I personally love it when I find a new app that will pay me to watch videos. There’s literally no easier way to make money directly from your phone. Here I’ve put together a top 10 list of the best video watching apps that give you cash for watching ads.
These apps aren’t in any particular order, but they all have a decent payout rate for the amount of work that goes into it. Don’t see one listed and you know it should be? Let us know in the comments below.
1. Perk TV
This is by far the best video rewards app available, with a payout rate of nearly $150 per month. You can have a maximum of 5 accounts per household with 5 different phones per account. However, if you do go over one account per IP, Perk may ask to see your ID so that you’re legitimately earning points. Videos are displayed for 2-3 hours at a time before you have to click on a button to continue watching for another 2-3 hours, making it one of the most passive video apps available. Perk has come a long way, and has even come out with 11 different apps that pay. If you’re going to start with any video rewards app, let it be this one.
This is another personal favorite of mine, and comes in close competition with the Perk TV app. Recent updates have made it so that sometimes have to close an ad before continuing to the next video, but it seems to be random or usually right after an update. If you keep it going, you can expect to earn nearly $70 per month with Swagbucks. Want to make even more? On their webpage you can participate in online activities to earn more cash, such as online shopping, daily check-ins, and printing out coupons for discounts. Referral bonuses are incredible, giving you 10% of all Swagbucks earned from friends for life.
In terms of points, the Video Rewards App trumps all, with the potentially to easily make $50 per more with limited amount of work. The only problem is that they usually run out of videos really quickly, so it’s difficult to earn a large amount. If you could run videos continuously, you’d be looking at a couple of hundred dollars easily due to the high point value per video. Unfortunately, this app is currently only available for iOS, but their website states that they are coming out with an Android version soon (even though this has been going on for almost a year now). Use bonus code kr7cO4klmCTuo on sign-up to receive extra points.
Checkpoints actually improved their system a little while ago, allowing you to earn a maximum of 500 points from videos instead of the usual 100. This means from videos alone, expect to make $15 – $20 per month. You can also increase your earnings by doing other tasks from the app such as scanning products at stores or checking-in at certain places around town. The videos tend to be a bit longer than most apps and the payout is slightly lower than the 3 we’ve already mentioned, but it’s definitely a great addition to our list. Use bonus code jwuerch on sign-up to receive a bonus.
The great thing I love about the Instant Rewards App is that the videos are incredibly short. Even though it’s not passive, hopping between each one has never been a problem. The only downside is the amount of videos that you’re allowed to watch each day, dramatically reducing your potential income. Still, I can bring in a healthy $10 – $15 dollars per month if I feel like putting some effort into it. Otherwise, you can earn more points by completing other tasks such as surveys and downloading apps. Definitely recommended.
6. App Trailers
App trailers has been around for as long as I can remember. Just recently they were taken over by Perk TV, so right now it may be a little difficult to discern if their earnings have changed or not. Still, you could easily bring in an extra $.50 cents a day (and I believe for the moment you still can). Videos are not passive as you have to click out of an ad after each one. They’re usually short, so you can easily get through them rather quickly. You can participate in scratch ticket to try and increase your earnings, but I do not recommend this – it will only cause you to lose points in the end.
7. Grab Points
This one is a recent addition to our list, but with incredible potential. Not only can you make a great deal downloading apps with GrabPoints, but you can watch an unlimited amount of videos and continuously earn points. Again, this method is not passive as you will have to click an ad after each video. Yet if all of your other options are down and you need a for-certain way to earn cash from being lazy, GrabPoints should be your go-to. Expect to make $10 – $15 watching videos per month with a bit of effort, and you can probably double that amount if you download all of their apps available.
8. Tap Cash App
The primary focus of the Tap Cash App isn’t watching videos, but also make another great addition to the list. The payout is a little bit low and videos are limited, but the main reason I’m putting it on the list is because of the other activities that they have available (especially downloading apps). This makes it a must-recommend for everyone trying to earn some cash from their phone. From videos alone, I can’t foresee more than a few dollars per month, but you won’t be needed to put in a large amount of effort to get this far. If you want to make $5 or more, stick with downloading apps.
The idea behind ChargerPay is to place ads on your phone when it’s not in use. Plug in your phone, and as long as it’s being charged you’ll slowly accumulate points. When they first came out, it was 100% passive, but recent updates have changed all this. Now you have to exit or interact with the app every so-often or you won’t be earning points while ads play. You can only have one account per household and only one phone per account. Assuming that the app were running 24/7, you could make $20 per month, but that would take a lot of work as you’d have to manage the phone. Sometimes instead of videos you’ll get pop-up ads as well.
10. NADA Mobile
Given the fact that this company has only been out for a few months now, they’re still trying to figure out a decent payout rate that makes their customers happy and gives them a decent profit. The main goal behind NADA is that you don’t have to ever have to pay for your cell phone bill. Simply participate in watching video ads or have ads displayed on your phone and have that directly transfer into cell phone data and minutes. While at first you could easily make an extra $3 per day, their rewards system was just changed so it’s difficult to say as of now. Still, if you want a way to get out of your phone bill, this may be a great start.
Apps that pay you to watch videos are some of the best. You don’t have to fill-out surveys that take a long time with little payout, and they allow you to be a lot lazier than with most apps. Is there an app that’s not on here and should be? Let us know by stating the name of the app in the comments below. Thanks for reading and happy frugaling.
