WANT TO EARN EXTRA MONEY?

For those of us that wear glasses, we know how expensive they can be. It’s not uncommon to go to the store to find out that a pair that will cost you a minimum of $100, if not more for both the frame and the lenses.

I’ve been searching for a pair of new glasses recently, and I’ve noticed the incredible gap in price between both in-store and online retailers. Some people fear that when they buy online it will be difficult to find a pair that fits your face while having to deal with returns

However, most companies today come with excellent return policies and warranties that can make the cheap prices – as low as $38 a pair with lenses – totally worth it. We’re here to give you 7 reasons why you should always consider buying glasses online.

1. You Can Try Them On

If you thought that you weren’t going to be first test out how you look in a new pair of glasses by shopping online, think again. One online retailer called GlassesUSA has a virtual mirror that lets you see how you look before you buy. You can either use one of their models or upload one of your photos to see how you look. This will save you the hassle of having to test them for the first time after you buy them.

2. Excellent Warranties

If you’ve ever worn a pair of glasses, it’s not at all uncommon to accidentally sit on them or have them break in one way or another. Whatever the reason, most companies you find will give you a bare minimum of at least a 30-day warranty (if not longer) of some type of accidental coverage.

3. Free Shipping & Returns

Out of all honestly, you’re going to have a lot better time trying a pair of glasses ins-tore rather than online, and there’s no way around that. Yet with unbeatable prices and excellent return policies, you’re still at an advantage if you buy them over the internet.

Most retailers will provide you with free shipping and returns since they know they have to compete with brick-and-mortal stores. Furthermore, for if some reason you don’t like your pair of glasses, they’re not you’re favorite color, or they just don’t fit how you want them to, you’re entitled to free returns no questions asked.

4. Pricing

This is one of the main reasons we’re here: cheap pricing. According to Vision Service Plan, the average cost for a pair of glasses with the lenses costs $196 dollars. As mentioned above, you can get a pair with lenses for as little as $38 dollars at GlassesUSA.

Perhaps you browse on their website and find a pair that you really like, but they’re way too expensive and outside of your budget.

You’ll frequently find sales during the holidays that take anywhere from $20 – $100 off of your purchase price, just as long as you buy them during the right time of year. GlassesUSA is currently offering a discount of $25 off any purchase of $79 or more with the code FALL25.

But there’s even more to it than that. GlassesUSA is also offering to price match any pair that you find cheaper plus an additional 10% discount. What I like to do is look for a pair on their website first, and then I try to find a cheaper pair to get that extra discount.

Yet the most important thing we forget is that when we make an in-store purchase, sales tax is always included. At specific online retailers, you may find that there aren’t any sales tax involved at checkout.

5. WorldWide Shipping With Excellent Customer Service

This is one benefit you usually won’t find when you shop in-store for glasses. Furthermore, since there’s no brick-and-mortar store their customer service hours are usually longer and outside of normal store hours.

While global shipping options are usually more expensive, it’s still great that you can be in any part of the world and still get a pair of glasses when you need them.

6. Pick A Frame To Fit Your Style

Usually there’s a fairly wide selection when making in-store purchases on a new pair of glasses, but I still have a tough time finding the pair that’s exactly right for me. Online shopping tends to eliminate this problem as I usually have a wider selection to choose from.

Instead of just a two- to three-hundred different pairs, I can now choose from thousands. Organizing them by category is extremely simple with the way the layout is designed on retailers’ sites. For example, you can select to look only at aviator glasses or glasses just for men.

7. No Sales Pressure

It’s not that I mind buying the sales pressure for buying a pair of glasses (since that’s what I’m there for), but some of the additional add-ons that they try and throw at you.

One time I went into a store where they offered me a package of 5 free eye exams a year for as little as $99 per year, provided that I signed-up for at least two years. At first I thought that this was a great deal, since eye exams usually cost me a minimum of $70.

But the fact of the matter is that I didn’t need those eye exams, since I only needed to go once a year. I would also have to always go to that specific store to get a free checkup. Fortunately, the logic-side of my brain took hold and declined the offer.

When you’re buying online, you know exactly what you’re getting at checkout and know the exact price before you make that final purchase. No one is going to get in your way and tell you that you should buy something else.

Final Thoughts

If you haven’t started already, I highly recommend that you start buying glasses online. With excellent savings and incredible return policies and warranties, there’s really nothing that can go wrong.

Don’t like a pair? Return it at no cost to you. Break it? Most companies have an accidental-break policy that allows you to get some type of refund or store credit. In any case, when you’re getting $38 for a pair with lenses, you really can’t do any better. Have you ever bought glasses online? Tell us about your experience below.
