The best part about making your own pizza is that it’s really cheap, and you can easily incorporate extra fresh ingredients to really wow your party guests.

To make your own pizza, you’re going to need:

  • 7 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 5 teaspoons salt
  • 2 ¾ cups warm water
  • 2 packages active dry yeast
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil

To make your pizza dough, you’ll start by mixing together the flour, sugar, and salt in your largest bowl.

In a smaller bowl, whisk together the water and the yeast until dissolved, then add the olive oil.

Pour these wet ingredients over the dry ingredients, and mix them together using a rubber spatula.

This will leave you with a wet dough.

Pour the contents of your dough from the bowl onto an oiled piece of plastic wrap and wash and dry the bowl.

Brush the bowl with olive oil, and replace the dough inside the freshly oiled bowl.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and leave in a warm spot for 1 hour.

After an hour has passed, cover the back of your dominant hand with olive oil and  your punch it to deflate it.

This will deflate the dough.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap again and leave for another 30 minutes.

Before your party guests arrive, ease the dough out from the bowl onto a floured countertop.

Divide the dough evenly into three balls, cover them with plastic wrap, and let them rest for 10 minutes.

Shape your pizzas into your desired shape, or use a rolling pin to flatten them out.

Transfer the dough to parchment-lined baking sheets.

Before finishing the construction of your pizza, preheat your oven to 425°F.

Add your sauce, cheese and favorite toppings.

If you use an ingredient like chicken, cook and season it before adding it to your pizza.

To make your baked chicken fingers, you’ll need:

  • 1 pound chicken breast
  • ½ cup Saucy Mama Lime Chipotle marinade
  • ½ teaspoon salt, divided

To make your baked chicken fingers, you’ll need to reheat your oven to 425°F.

Grab a backing sheet and line it with foil.

Grease the foil with olive oil or cooking spray.

Grab your chicken breasts and place them on a clean work surface and cover them with a sheet of plastic wrap.

Grab a rolling pin, frying pan, meat mallet or other heavy object like a sauce jar.

Pound the chicken breasts until they are about 1/2 inches thick.

Take off the plastic wrap  and cut the chicken into 1/2 inch thick strips.

Take the Sauce Mama marinade and pour enough in a bowl for all of your chicken.

In a separate bowl pour the panko.

Season the chicken with ¼ teaspoon of salt.

Combine the remaining salt with the bread crumbs.

Coat the chicken strips in the marinade by dipping them directly into the bowl.

Toss the marinated chicken in the panko until they are completely covered in crumbs.

Place the breaded chicken strips on a baking sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes.

Turn the chicken fingers so they brown on the other side.

Cook them for another 3 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the crust is brown.

3. Fennel and Asiago Tartlettes

Making tartlettes is super easy with a cookie cutter and some store bought puff pastry.

You can make your tartlettes really fancy with some roasted vegetables and your favorite cheese, but it’ll be just as delicious and a little bit faster to try this recipe.

To make these fennel and asiago tartlettes, you’re going to need:

  • 2 fennel bulbs, trimmed, quartered, and thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 ½ cups coarsely grated young Asiago cheese

Before you get started making your fennel and asiago tartlettes, preheat the oven to 400°F.

In a large mixing bowl, toss the fennel, olive oil, salt, and sugar together until the fennel is fully coated.

Place the fennel onto 2 parchment-lined cookie sheets.

Roast the fennel in the oven until caramelized, about 30 minutes.

Flip the fennel slices about 15 minutes into them cooking.

Take the fennel out of the oven and set them aside.

Lay out a sheet of puff pastry on a clean work surface.

Using a 3-inch round cutter, cut out 12 circles of puff pastry.

Lay these on a parchment-lined cookie sheet.

Repeat until all your puff pastry sheets have been cut into rounds.

Place one piece of fennel on each round, top with 1 tablespoon of grated cheese, and another small piece of fennel.

Bake in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until the puff pastry is cooked through.

Remove them from the oven and let them cool for 3 to 5 minutes.

The tops of the tartlettes will be a golden brown, so sprinkle seasonings like parsley, oregano or cilantro for color.

4. Potato Nests with Sour Cream and Smoked Salmon

If you want something absolutely delicious and seemingly expensive to serve, you should make potato nests with sour cream and smoked salmon!

This dish will knock your guests socks off, and they’ll think you splurged on salmon!

Smoked salmon is relatively cheap, and for this recipe you’ll only need a small amount.

To make your potato nests with sour cream and smoked salmon you’ll need:

  • 1 1/2 pounds large russet potatoes
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced smoked salmon (2 oz.), plus a small amount for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch black pepper
  • Small parsley leaves

Making your potato nests with sour cream and smoked salmon is going to take a few steps, but they will be easy to execute.

You’ll want to begin this recipe a few hours before your party begins, and you’ll need a food processor for this recipe.

First, you’ll ned to grab a large saucepan, and boil the unpeeled potatoes over a high heat.

You can cook place the potatoes in the pot as the water heats up.

Once the water starts boiling, reduce the heat, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes until the potatoes are just cooked.

Drain the water from the potatoes, let them cool off on your counter and then refrigerate them for at least 1 hour or until they’re cold.

While your potatoes are cooling, pulse the smoked salmon and the lemon peels in a food processor.

Add the sour cream to the food processor and process until all the ingredients are combined.

Remove the contents of the processed salmon and sour cream mixture and refrigerate them in a covered bowl until you’re ready to serve them.

Next, preheat your oven to 425°F.

Lightly grease 32 mini-muffin tin cups.

Peel and coarsely grate the potatoes.

Toss the potatoes with salt and pepper in a bowl.

Place about 1 heaping tablespoon of potato mixture into the muffin cups.

Create a bowl shape in the muffin cups and allow some mixture to extend above rim the rim.

Bake the potatoes about 25 minutes.

Let the potatoes cool for 10 minutes.

Remove the potato nests from the muffin pans.

Place them on a baking sheet lined with paper towels to set.

Before serving your potato nests, preheat your oven to 375°F.

Place the potato nests on a large baking sheet and bake until heated through and crisp, about 6 to 8 minutes.

Transfer potato nests to a platter.

Using a teaspoon, dollop the salmon and sour cream mixture into each potato nest.

To make these sausage rolls you’ll need:

  • 1 pound raw bulk pork breakfast sausage (16 links)
  • 1/2 cup finely minced onion
  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh thyme
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh sage
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 (17.3 oz.) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons plus 2 tsp. smooth Dijon mustard

To make your sausage rolls, use a sharp knife and cut the ends off of the sausage casings.

Squeeze out the sausage meat and toss the casings.

In a large bowl, mix the sausage, onion, thyme, sage and crushed red pepper.

Set this aside.

Next, preheat your oven to 400°F.

On a floured work surface, unroll 1 sheet of puff pastry.

Cut the puff pastry sheet horizontally into 2 inch long rectangles.

Brush each rectangle with 2 teaspoons of mustard.

Cut 6 vertical 1 1/2-inch strips from each rectangle.

Place 1 tablespoon of the sausage mixture in the center of each strip.

Roll the strips by beginning at one end and pressing the seam to seal in the sausage.

Place each roll seam-side down on a rimmed baking sheet.

Lastly, bake the rolls for about 20 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden.

Remove from the oven and let these cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Your guests will be raging about these at your party!

6. Black Bean and Cheese Quesadillas

When it comes to crowd pleasers, you can’t go wrong with a simple black bean and cheese quesadilla.

These are a perfect healthy option for your guests, and they’re bound to appease your vegetarian buddies.

To make this recipe, you’ll need:

  • 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes with green chiles, drained
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 green onions, diced
  • Nonstick cooking spray

You’ll need these ingredients for your quesadilla toppings:

  • 1 ripe avocado, seed removed and scooped
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper
  • Cilantro, for garnish

To make your quesadillas, you’ll need to begin by mixing together the black beans, diced tomatoes, green onions and cheese.

Place 2 tortillas down on a clean work surface.

Place half a cup of the filling over one of the tortillas.

Top with the remaining tortilla, and gently press down.

Next, heat a skillet over medium-high heat, and spray with nonstick cooking spray.

Cook your quesadillas for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

Make sure the cheese inside has melted!

Remove from the heat, and let them cool for two minutes slightly.

Using a small circle cookie cutter, stamp out circle shapes and place them on a serving platter.

To make the topping, blend the avocado, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, salt and pepper until its creamy.

Dollop each quesadilla with a teaspoon of your fresh avocado cream, and garnish them with fresh cilantro.

7. Spinach, Cheese and Green Onion Mini Quiche

Mini quiches are a fantastic finger food that are delicious and easy to make.

This recipe calls for spinach, but you can easily substitute whatever green you prefer.

To make your mini quiches you’ll need some simple ingredients.

For the crust:

  • 1-1/4 cups biscuit mix
  • 1/4 cup butter, unsalted
  • 2 tablespoons water

For the filling:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or whole milk
  • 1/3 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (9 ounce) box frozen spinach, thawed and drained
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Parmesan cheese, for garnish

To make your spinach, cheese and green onion mini quiches, you’ll need to start by preheating your oven to 375°F.

Grease a mini-muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray.

Set the muffin tin aside.

In a large bowl, mix together the biscuit mix, butter and water, and stir until a dough forms.

Carefully press portions of the dough into the mini muffin tin cavities, creating a cup shapes.

In another bowl, whisk the eggs, spinach, cream and mozzarella together.

Add the salt and pepper at the end.

Carefully divide the egg mixture evenly in the muffin tin, making sure to leave just a little space for the egg mixture to rise.

Bake your spinach, cheese and green onion mini quiches for about 20 minutes or until the filling has set.

Allow the quiches to cool for 3 to 5 minutes

 Garnish your mini quiches with nuts, parmesan and green onions, and serve them!

8. Sesame Meatballs

If you want to surprise your guests with some fancy Asian-style cooking, them make these sesame meatballs for your next party!

These sesame meatballs are bound to leave your guests in awe, and they’re super cheap and easy to make!

To get started, you’ll need these ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2-3 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions

For the sauce, you’ll need:

  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Green onions

You’re going to want to start with your meatballs.

First, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, sesame oil, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, cilantro, egg, salt, pepper and green onions with together your hands.

Next, line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Form small to medium-sized meatballs with your hands.

Place these on the baking sheets about 1/2 inch apart.

Preheat your oven to 400°F.

Bake your meatballs for about 12 to 15 minutes or until they are golden brown.

While the meatballs bake, whisk the ingredients for the sauce together.

Remove the meatballs from the oven and drizzle the sauce evenly over the meatball while they cool.

Stick each meatball with with a skewer or mini fork, and serve immediately.

9. Hot Buttered Pretzels

You may love going out for a hot buttered pretzel, but you may be surprised how cheap and easy they are to make at home.

These tasty snacks will be loved by all your guests, and they won’t break the bank to make!

To make hot buttered pretzels, you’ll need some ingredients!

For the dough you’ll need:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsps (1 pkg) instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (~105°-115°F)

For the pretzel topping you’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • kosher salt for sprinkling
  • 3 tbsps unsalted butter, melted

To make the dough, combine the flour, salt, sugar, yeast, and warm water in a large bowl with your hands.

Work the ingredients together until the dough turns into a ball.

The dough should be kind of wet.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface.

Knead the dough for 5 or more minutes or until the dough is smooth.

Next, sprinkle flour on it and place the dough in a large, oiled bowl.

Cover it with plastic wrap and let the dough rise for 30 minutes in a warm location.

While this happens, preheat your oven to 500°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

While your oven preheats and your dough rises, make the topping for your pretzels.

Stir the sugar into the half cup of warm water until the sugar is dissolved.

Pour the sugar water into a shallow dish.

That’s it!

Next, you’ll want to form your pretzels.

To do this, turn your dough out onto a lightly greased work surface.

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.

Roll each piece out into a long rope that is about 24 inches in length.

Form a circle with the dough rope and pick up the two ends.

Twist the ends around one another.

Make sure there are 4 inch tails after the twist in the dough.

Attach these tails to the bottom of the dough ring.

Dip each of the formed pretzels in the sugar water.

Set these on the lined baking sheet.

Before placing your pretzels in the oven, sprinkle them with kosher salt and let them rest for 15 minutes.

Bake the pretzels in the oven for 10-12 minutes.

Remove the pretzels from the oven and immediately brush them with melted butter.

Serve these with your favorite dipping sauces!

10. Chicken & Pineapple Quesadillas

If your guests love quesadillas as much as you do, these sweet and spicy chicken and pineapple quesadillas are bound to be a slam dunk!

To get started on this delightful dish you’ll need:

  • 1 lg. chicken breast (3/4 lb)
  • 15 oz can pineapple chunks in juice
  • 15 oz can black beans
  • 3 whole green onions
  • 1/4 bunch fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella or monterrey jack
  • 8 8-inch, soft taco size flour tortillas

To make your chicken and pineapple quesadillas, you’ll want to begin by cooking the chicken, preferably on a countertop grill.

You’ll want to make sure the chicken is golden brown and completely cooked through.

Allow the chicken to cool while you prepare the rest of your quesadilla filling.

Next, you’ll want to    drain the pineapple chunks and then roughly chop the chunks into smaller pieces.

After that is finished, rinse and drain the black beans.

Roughly chop the cilantro and slice the green onions.

Next, stir together the pineapple, black beans, cilantro, green onions, cumin, red pepper flakes, salt, and shredded cheese in a bowl.

Chop the cooled chicken into small chunks.

Stir in the chicken with the rest of the filling.

Place 1/2 cup of the quesadilla filling onto half of one tortilla.

Fold the other side of the tortilla over the filling.

Cook the quesadilla in a skillet over a medium heat until golden brown and crispy on the bottom.

Flip the quesadilla over and cook it the same way on the other side.

Cut your quesadilla into triangles and serve them nice and hot with a side of sour cream or guacamole!
