Deal Alert: Spirit Airlines Has $34 Flights To Multiple Cities

Want to Earn Some Extra Money?

If you’re looking for a cheap getaway this summer, Spirit Airlines is offering $34 dollar one-way flights from various cities. All reservations must be made before July 21st in order to qualify for the discount.

How Do I Get Such A Great Deal?

Normally one-way tickets from Spirit Airlines cost as much as tickets from any other airline, ranging from $100 – $200 dollars each. Anyone can apply for this deal, whether they are a Spirit Airlines member or not.

However, those who sign-up for the $9 Fare Club Membership with Spirit will only have to pay $23 dollars. This membership is valid for an entire year, and if you buy one ticket you’ve already made your money back. Most fliers report saving over $75 dollars per ticket as a member.

Here are some good deals that are currently available:

One-Way From Los Angeles To Baltimore – $34

One-Way From New York (LGA) to Ft. Lauderdale – $34

One-Way From Ft. Lauderdale to Las Vegas – $34

Can I Book A Flight For Any Day?

All flights that are valid for this promotion must be booked before July 21st, 2015. Any bookings made after will revert back to their original price. These fares are also only valid for specific dates in September, October, November and December 2015.

Why Is It So Cheap?

Not only are you getting great savings with the $9 Fare Club Membership, but you also get 50% off any bags that you bring to the airport. The reason that Spirit is so cheap in the first place is because they don’t add on any of the luxuries that you don’t need, such as water and snacks. You can order something to eat or drink, but it comes at a cost ($3 dollars per bottle of water).

Spirit now charges money for bringing a carry-on bag. An assigned seat is now $8 to $20 dollars depending on the flight. Make sure you know all of the fees before you calculate the total cost of the trip.

I always make sure to come prepared and eat a full meal beforehand and to bring my own bottle of water to avoid fees. The only thing I bring with me is a carry-on bag for an extra $20 dollars (after my $9 Fare Club Membership).

Even with all of these extra fees that are available, by planning carefully I usually save an average of at least $100 dollars compared to other airlines.

How Can I Save Even More?

You can sign-up for Spirit’s Frequent Flyer Program for free. Each time you fly you bank miles with Spirit that can be redeemed for a free flight. Points expire within one year’s time.

If you’re still in the month of July of 2015 when reading this article, apply for the Discover It Card and get 2% cash back on all purchases. Normally it’s 1%, but they’re offering a promotion to double all of your cash back. With rotating categories that give you 5% back on certain purchases quarterly, you can now even earn up to 10% off specific products.

If the Discover promotion has already passed and you’re looking to still get 2% off of your flight, we recommend going with the Citi Double Cash Card, giving you 1% in cash back when you buy something, and another 1% when you pay your bill.

Final Thoughts

It’s sometimes difficult to remember to check the fares on Spirit Airlines since they aren’t a major carrier. However, if you live in a large enough city you’re more than likely to have them at your airport. Try checking their prices first before any other airline, as you’re more than likely going to be saving lots of cash.
