50 Ways To Get Cash Today

50 Ways To Get Cash Today
Amy Baum Feb 28, 2018
Want to Earn Some Extra Money?

In this post, I’ve listed 50 different ways to get money today or ASAP. Most of these options will put cash in your hand immediately. You’ll have to do a bit of work, but it’s definitely worth it.

I’ve also listed tips and resources to make things easier. See how you can solve financial problems and get cash today.

1. Join One Of These Top Survey Sites

Taking paid surveys online is a simple way to earn money and gift cards. This option is best if you don’t mind waiting a week or two for money. If you dedicate a lot of time to taking surveys, you might get paid in a week or less.

Before you get started, you’ll want to make sure the survey websites aren’t scams. I recently wrote a post titled 20 Best Survey Sites 2018: Earn Free Cash Taking Surveys From Home.

It’s a good resource to point you in the right direction. Some surveys sites that I have personal experience with include:

Many survey sites pay through PayPal. You link PayPal to your bank account to get deposits. Set up a PayPal account ahead of time to get paid as fast as possible.

2. Visit Your Local Pawn Shop

Pawn shops are one of the most common ways to make quick cash. You have two options for making money at pawn shops. You can sell unused items you don’t want, and you’ll receive cash for them. The pay may not be spectacular, but it’s a fast and easy solution.

Pawn shops also offer loans with interest rates. To get a loan, you temporarily give the pawn shop a valuable item. For example, you may have a nice digital camera or diamond jewelry. You’ll receive a loan and pay it back with interest. You typically have a few weeks to pay back the loan.

I suggest going with the first option if you don’t need a large sum of money. You won’t have to worry about repayment or interest rates, and you’re selling items you don’t need. To save some time, call local pawn shops to see if they’re buying the items you want to sell.

3. Sell Clothes To Plato’s Closet

Plato’s Closet is a popular retail store that buys new and gently used clothing. They have stores throughout the entire country, so finding one is usually easy.

The company that owns Plato’s Closet also owns Once Upon A Child, Play It Again Sports, Music Go Round, and Style Encore. All of these stores buy new and gently used clothing, sports equipment, and instruments.

I’ve sold clothes to Plato’s Closet multiple times at different locations. They usually accept about 20 to 30 percent of the items I bring in. The clothes you sell need to be in great condition and in trendy styles.

You can read a list of what they buy and brands they prefer. They inspect the items you bring in and offer you cash if they want to buy them.

The pay they offer isn’t high. I’ve usually earned between $2 to $10 per item at the most. Still, that’s not bad at all if you need quick cash. Check out Plato’s Closet and the other stores above if you’ve good unwanted clothing and goods in good condition.

4. Become A Driver For Uber Or Lyft

Driving for Uber or Lyft is an incredibly popular way to make money fast. You won’t get paid immediately, but don’t rule this option out. You’ll get a real paycheck in 1-2 weeks, so this is a good gig if you need a large sum of cash. Here are some other benefits this gig offers:

  • You set 100% of your own hours.
  • You can drive as little or as much as you want.
  • You can get tips from passengers.
  • You can earn bonuses for referrals and more.
  • reports that Uber drivers earn $13.84 to $14.64 per hour.
  • reports that Lyft drivers earn $15.97 to $17.01 per hour.
  • You can work for both companies at once.

To sign up as an Uber or Lyft driver, visit the links above. You can learn more by reading my articles Drive For Lyft: Everything You Need To Know and Drive For Uber: Review, Important Info, And Tips. These two posts offer tons of details about eligibility, earnings, perks, and more.

5. Babysit For A Friend, Family, Or Neighbor

Babysitting is another timeless way to get cash immediately. And in this day and age, finding a babysitting gig is incredibly easy. Here are a couple of options you have if you want to get paid to babysit right away:

  • Post a Facebook status for your friends and family to see.
  • Post in local parenting groups if you’re a member of them.
  • Post in your neighborhood’s Facebook group, if applicable.
  • Post an ad on Craigslist.
  • Use other social media platforms like Instagram to post ads.
  • Send out a mass text message offering babysitting services.
  • Drop by your neighbor’s home to let them know you’re available.
  • Call friends and family to see if they need assistance.
  • Put up signs or flyers around your neighborhood.

Make sure to be clear that you’re seeking compensation. If you’re flexible with your rates, this may attract more people. You’re more likely to get hired ASAP by people you already know.

Create a quick list of references and experiences to provide people you aren’t as close to. This shows that you’re professional and trustworthy.

6. Check Your Wallet For Old Gift Cards

If someone asked you to name every card in your wallet, could you do it? I know that I couldn’t. Aside from essentials, I’ve got at least 2-3 partially used gift cards.

There’s a good chance you’ve got some new or used gift cards, too. If you don’t plan to use them, you can make money from them today.

Last May, I wrote a post titled 8 Websites To Make Money Selling Gift Cards Online. Many of these sites instantly pay you for your unwanted gift cards.

Some of them don’t even require you to mail in the card. You just have to provide the right numbers and info to get paid. You can get up to 90% of the card’s value in cash using the options on my list.

7. Sign Up For TaskRabbit

TaskRabbit is a website where you find local gigs you complete for clients. As a Tasker, you post a list of services you’re willing to offer. The gigs you’re able to complete depends on what you want to do.

Once you complete a task, you get paid in a few days or less. Here are some real gig examples:

  • Putting together furniture.
  • Helping people move from one home to another.
  • Grocery and retail shopping.
  • Performing lawn care services.
  • Folding and organizing clothes.
  • Writing blog posts.

Base your service offers on your skills, schedule, and abilities. If you own a car, you can provide dozens of different errand running services. If you’re skilled with labor, you can perform a huge variety of hands-on services. It’s 100% up to you.

You set your own hourly rate with TaskRabbit, so there’s a lot of potential to make money. TaskRabbit charges a 20% fee, so factor this into your hourly rate.

Once you complete and submit a task, you can get paid quickly. Some Taskers say they get paid in 24 hours, but for others, it takes a few days.

8. Donate Plasma At Your Local Blood Blank

Donating plasma for money is a quick way to get cash within hours. Research shows that you can earn between $20 to $50 per donation. First-time donors often earn bonuses, too.

Most adults can donate plasma twice a week. The specific requirements for donation can vary a bit, but they’re pretty simple overall. You need to be 18 years or older, at least 110 pounds, and have overall good health.

Visit to find a donation center near you. I suggest checking out the websites for your local donation centers. They typically provide all of the details you need to make sure you’re eligible.

9. Rent A Room On Airbnb

Airbnb is an awesome way to save money when you’re traveling. You can rent people’s homes or apartments for a fraction of hotel prices. If you have extra space, Airbnb is also a great way for you to earn some extra cash.

And aside from cleaning up the rental space, you don’t have to do tons of legwork.

You have a lot of flexibility when you post a listing. Some people rent out entire homes or apartments. Others rent out rooms in their apartments. Renters pay for each night that they stay.

If you’re successful, you can even turn this into a great side hustle. Highly-rated Airbnb hosts make thousands of extra dollars per month. Read this post about hosting to learn more.

10. Post Gigs On Fiverr

Fiverr is a popular online platform where you can post services for $5 or more. The gigs you post are based 100% on what you want to do. To get fast results, come up with ideas based on your talents.

Also, pick tasks that you know you can finish quickly. This will get you your money as soon as possible.

You can offer digital goods or physical goods. Physical goods require shipping, so this isn’t the fastest option. Below I’ll list some real Fiverr gigs currently listed. There are many categories for you to choose from, so finding the right niche is easy. Here are some current gigs:

  • I will create an awesome promotional video starting at $5.
  • I will write a 500-word blog, article, or content starting at $10.
  • I will turn your photo into a pencil sketch starting at $10.
  • I will draw anything you want starting at $5.
  • I will research the best 40 hashtags for your business starting at $5.
  • I will give you a psychic reading about love starting at $5.

As you can see, you can do pretty much anything. You set your prices, and some people make hundreds per gig. But if you want fast cash, I suggest starting with lower prices. Make sure your profile is detailed, and list as many gigs as possible.

Using Fiverr is a solid way to make quick money, but you won’t get it immediately. Your buyers need to approve your orders before you get paid. This can take up to 14 days. Still, that’s pretty fast when you’re in need of extra funds

11. Sell Your Used Textbooks Online

If you’re a current or former student, you likely have old textbooks sitting around. You know all too well that these books are very expensive. This makes students eager to buy used copies.

Fortunately, selling used textbooks online is surprisingly easy. There are lots of buyback websites to choose from. Popular ones include:

To sell your books, enter the ISBN numbers. If a site is willing to buy your books, you’ll receive buyback quotes. I suggest exploring as many sites as possible to get the best price.

Many of these companies provide free shipping labels. Once you mail in your book, you’ll receive payment. Payment options vary, but you’ll typically get your money in a week or two.

12. Create And Sell On Redbubble

Redbubble is a popular website where anyone and everyone can sell their art. Your art and designs can be printed on t-shirts, stickers, phone cases, and more.

The best part is that Redbubble does all of the product creation for you. You just need to come up with the designs – even doodles and text slogans are acceptable. You get paid once per month, so the cash is quick but not instant.

Additionally, Redbubble takes care of the financial transactions, delivery, customer service, and everything else. Once you upload your art and decide what products to sell, you’ve done your job.

You get paid on the 15th of every month if your products are bought by customers. You can get paid via PayPal or direct deposit.

You have 100% control over how much you want to earn per item. Redbubble has base prices, and you add your profit margin to that. It sounds confusing but it’s actually pretty simple I’ll list an example of how it all works below.

  • The base price for an adult unisex t-shirt is $16.25. This shirt will have your art, text, or other design printed on it.
  • You set a margin to decide how much you want to earn. Let’s say that you want to earn $5.00 per shirt.
  • Buyers who come to Redbubble will see your t-shirt listed for $21.25. Every time a t-shirt sells, you get $5.00.
  • If you sell eight shirts in August, you’ll be sent a payment of $40 on August 15th.

That’s truly all there is to it. To boost your sales, I suggest advertising your Redbubble merchandise on social media. Post links to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and so on. Your work is done!

13. Stop By A Coinstar Machine

If you have a spare change jar, it’s time to turn it into cash. Coinstar machines let you dump your change in and they automatically count your coins.

There are over 50,000 machines located in grocery and retail stores nationwide. Within a minute or so, you’ll get a voucher for cash. Take the voucher to a cash register, and you’ll get your money right away.

The only downside to Coinstar is that they charge an 11.9 percent service fee. However, there’s no service fee if you exchange your coins for gift cards instead of cash. Amazon and Starbucks are among the list of options. I recommend going this route unless you truly need cash.

Some banks also have coin counting machines. If you’re a member, there’s usually no fee. Non-members may be charged fees. This option is more time consuming since you’ll have to visit or call local banks. But if you have some free time, it’s worth a shot.

14. Use Sites And Apps With Sign Up Bonuses

Frugal For Less readers know that plenty of apps and websites offer easy ways to make money. The most popular ones usually offer signup bonuses.

Once you register for the site or app, you can get anywhere from a few cents to several dollars. It doesn’t sound like much, but it adds up fast.

To make truly good cash, read 10 Apps & Websites That Give You A $10+ Sign-Up Bonus. $10 is impressive compared to many other bonuses. If you join a few of these sites and apps, you’ll have the money you need in no time.

Check out the options we’ve listed to see which ones are right for you.

15. Sign Up To Test Websites

A few years ago, I found a website called UserTesting. I’d heard that website testing was a good way to make money fast. Since this site has a good reputation, I gave it a shot.

I signed up and was surprised to see how easy it was. You simply give your feedback about websites, verbally and in writing.

Exactly 7 days later – down to the minute – I had money in my PayPal account. UserTesting pays automatically after 7 days pass, so I was really pleased with my experience. I still do website testing now and again. It’s a simple and truly fun way to make some quick money.

To get as much cash as possible, I recommend using multiple sites. I recently wrote 14 Companies That Pay You To Test Websites For Money. I listed the payment methods and how fast you get paid for each site.

If you use several of these sites, you can easily earn a few hundred dollars per month. It’s absolutely worth a shot.

16. Do Quick Online Tasks Through Reddit

The Reddit SlaveLabour subreddit is a great resource if you only need to earn a few bucks. This online community has over 36,000 users, and a huge variety of tasks are posted daily. They don’t pay a lot, but they do pay quickly. Here are some examples of tasks:

  • Edit and review a piece of text for $1.00.
  • Review an Android app for $1.00 paid through PayPal.
  • Make a video clip of yourself doing the Hokey Pokey dance for $5.00.
  • Create a cute cat design for a t-shirt for $2.50.
  • Leave an online review of an item for $5.00.

These are all real tasks listed within the last 24 hours. As you can see, your options are very diverse. You can also post an offer to complete a task for a small fee. Many people don’t list a price; they are willing to discuss payment Here are some examples of offers:

  • Tutoring for $10 per hour.
  • Review and edit resume for $10.
  • Create a digital pet portrait painting for $30 to $40.
  • Write verified product reviews on Amazon.
  • Create a personalized Office 360 account for $3 to $5.

Most users send and receive payment through PayPal. There’s a list of rules and banned topics on the subreddit right-hand sidebar. Make sure to carefully read and follow these rules.

17. See If You Have Unclaimed Money

The phrase “free money” definitely sounds like a scam, but there’s one unique exception. Unclaimed funds are bank balances, refunds, paychecks, and other types of money in abandoned accounts.

When institutions have unclaimed money for over one year, they turn it over to state or federal treasury departments.

Finding out if you have unclaimed money is easy. Visit this page for a list of options. Last year, I used the search by state option. I was shocked to see I had almost $200 in unclaimed money.

Some of it was from a previous employer, and some of it was from a long-forgotten bank account. I filled out some forms and received a check in less than two weeks.

If this sounds too good to be true, just look at the statistics. In 2013, there were over $58 billion in unclaimed funds across the United States. It may be hit or miss, but this is 100% legit and worth exploring.

18. Deliver Food Through DoorDash

Flexible jobs that involve driving are incredibly popular right now. If you have a vehicle, this is an easy way to make money fast.

As soon as you start working, you start earning cash. DoorDash is one option with a good reputation. With DoorDash, you get paid to deliver food to people. You get your first check within a week.

The requirements for DoorDash are simple. You need to be 18 years or older, have an Android or iPhone smartphone, and you need to provide your social security number. There aren’t any requirements for the vehicle you use. In fact, you can even use a motorcycle or bike to deliver food.

DoorDash is currently available in a few dozen cities. The pay you receive depends on the city you work in.

According to Glassdoor, hourly pay averages more than $10 per hour. You also get to keep 100% of the tips you receive. If you apply now and get approved, you can get paid in a week or less.

19. Post A Service Ad On Craigslist

Craigslist is a well-known website where you can post ads for free. There’s one ad section of the site titled Services. This is where people post offers to complete different tasks. This is a quick and free way to find odd jobs in your city. The Services section lists the following categories:

  • automotive
  • beauty
  • cell/mobile
  • computer
  • creative
  • cycle
  • event
  • farm and garden
  • financial
  • Household
  • labor/move
  • legal
  • lessons
  • marine
  • pet
  • real estate
  • skilled trade
  • small business ads
  • therapeutic
  • travel/vacation
  • write/edit/translate

As you can see, you have a ton of opportunities. You can post ads in as many of these sections as you want. Just make sure that you can provide the services in that category.

Quality posters list their rates in the ad and provide details about their skills, experience, and availability. Do this to speed up the process and make your ad stand out.

20. Scan Your Grocery Receipts

Before I became a Frugal For Less author, I had no idea you could make money by scanning receipts. It’s such an easy way to get cash and gift cards, and it’s completely legit.

You’re getting paid cash back for the purchases you make. Sometimes you need to buy certain brands to earn cash back. Other times you make money simply for scanning a receipt with your phone.

To get started, read Top 10 Free Apps That Pay You Money For Scanning Grocery Receipts (Updated) and 11 Apps Like Ibotta That Pay You To Scan Receipts.

These posts are awesome guides that provide details about each option. You’ll also learn how to get free bonuses – Ibotta pays a $10 bonus!

You can use as many of the apps as you want to maximize your cash back. My two personal favorite apps are Ibotta and Shopkick. With both apps, I earned cash and gift cards in just a few days. Start keeping your receipts to get extra cash without a lot of effort.

21. Get Instant Rebates From Earny

Do you enjoy online shopping? I prefer it because it’s super convenient, and it also offers a lot of cash back opportunities. One that really stands out from the crowd is Earny.

This website gets you instant rebates when there are price drops on products you buy. The best part is that you don’t have to do any of the work. Earny does it for you once you’ve registered your account.

This isn’t likely to put cash in your pocket instantly. However, it’s a 100% passive way to get some extra money over time. Why not get free money whenever you can?

Check out the link above to learn a bit more about how Earny works. Signing up is super simple, so you’ll be on your way to getting rebates in no time.

22. Host A Garage Sale

Hosting a traditional garage sale is a timeless way to get cash fast. If you’re organized, you can set up your garage sale within a day or so. Most people host garage sales on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

To earn as much money as possible, make sure to advertise. Here are some options for getting the word out:

  • Make a public Facebook post.
  • Send a group text, e-mail or Facebook message.
  • Post an ad on Craigslist.
  • Post an ad in your local newspaper.
  • Hang flyers and signs in your area.
  • Post in local Facebook groups geared towards buying and selling.

Putting in a bit of extra effort can really pay off. Make sure the items you sell are clean and nicely displayed. Be open to negotiating prices. If your garage sale is successful, you’ll have cash in your pocket very quickly.

23. Browse The Gig Section On Craigslist

The Gig section on Craigslist is full of one-time jobs or short-term jobs that usually take a few hours. There are some fishy ads posted now and then, but there are also a lot of legit ones. Here are a few real examples of gigs in my city:

  • Landscaping for $12 per hour.
  • Detailed house cleaning for $11 per hour.
  • Grooming two dogs for $60 in cash.
  • Weekend babysitting for $15 per hour.
  • House cleaning and organization for $200 for two hours.
  • Moving furniture to a donation center for $50.

These are just a few of the several dozen gigs posted in the last 24 hours. If you’re uncomfortable going to a gig alone, see if a friend will join you and split the cash. Picking up a couple of odd jobs like this can lead to good money.

24. Return Unused/Unwanted Items You Don’t Want

It’s no secret that I love makeup and skincare products. Unfortunately, I don’t love every single product I buy. This is why I shop at stores with great return policies – Target and ULTA are good examples. If I dislike the product I buy, I simply return it to get my money back.

Take a look around your home to see if you’ve got unused items that you’d like to return. Some stores allow returns on items you’ve used/tried but disliked. To get cash, you’ll usually need to have a receipt or proof of purchase. Without a receipt, you may be offered store credit.

This option definitely works if it applies to you, but make sure to keep things honest. Stores can ban customers or flag their accounts for abusing return policies. That’s not worth getting a bit of cash when you’re in need.

25. Download Apps For Local Selling

Craigslist and local shops aren’t your only options for selling items within hours. There are several different websites and smartphone apps you can use, too.

These apps let you snap photos of your items, list them for sale, and chat with potential buyers. You meet up with buyers, get paid, and you’re all set.

Below I’ve listed three of my top picks and provided some info about them. These are some of the most popular and highly rated options for virtual selling. To increase your earnings, give all three apps/websites a try. You’ll reach more buyers and possibly make more money!

  • VarageSale – I like VarageSale because it’s safer than other options. To start selling, you choose your location. You then verify your identity through Facebook. Buyers have to verify their identity, too. Once you do this, you can list items and start connecting with local buyers. The service is free and can be used online or through your smartphone.
  • OfferUp – OfferUp is similar to Craigslist, but it’s much more modern and efficient. It’s another option that’s 100% free for buyers and sellers. All of the steps take place by using your smartphone, so the process is convenient. You’ll make listings, answer questions from potential buyers, then meet up to make a sale. It’s truly that simple.
  • Letgo – Letgo is a mobile app that I recently reviewed for Frugal For Less. All of my research made it clear that this is another super easy way to sell items locally. Read Letgo Review: Make Money Selling Your Used Items to see why this app is so popular and highly-rated. I even listed tips for sellers to get the best possible experiences.

26. Open A Credit Line (With Caution)

Opening a line of credit is a legitimate way to get money during an emergency. If you have a decent credit score, you can get approved for a line of credit immediately. However, there are a few things to consider before you go this route:

  • Explore different interest rates to find the lowest ones.
  • Do the math to make sure you can afford to pay off the credit over time.
  • Choose options that give you immediate access to money.

You may want to visit local banks and credit unions to get the best results. This allows you to ask plenty of questions and get quick answers. You want to be 100% sure about your decision to open a line of credit.

If you find a reputable option and you meet the criteria above, this may be worth considering.

27. Sell Used Items For Low Prices On eBay

eBay is undoubtedly one of the most popular online marketplaces. This is mostly because you can buy and sell nearly anything on the site. And sellers get to set their prices as low or as high as they want. Buyers bid on items, but sellers can also set ‘buy now’ prices to make quick sales.

If you’ve got unused items lying around, eBay is a super reputable place to hold online sales. The listing fees are low and you get paid via PayPal. eBay has over 160 million active users worldwide, so there are tons of potential buyers.

You can make speedy sales by setting low prices and using the buy now option. And again, you can sell pretty much anything.

In another recent post, I mentioned an experience I had selling on eBay. I had an outdated iPod I never used. Electronic buyback websites weren’t interested in it, so I gave eBay a shot. I think I set my auction to last one week.

A bidder ended up buying it for $15, and I shipped it the same day. The profit margin was impressive, and I enjoyed the simple process.

If you don’t mind waiting a week or two, try selling on eBay. Go through books, clothes, electronics, jewelry, and everything else you don’t use. To set prices that’ll attract buyers, check out how much similar items are listed for.

Listing your items for just a little bit less gives you an edge over the competition.

28. Offer Your Services On

Some people aren’t comfortable offering services on Craigslist. This is totally understandable, but don’t think Craigslist is your only option. is a popular, professional, and trustworthy website for finding care jobs.

The website has over 26,400,000 in 20 countries, so finding a local gig isn’t hard.

As a caregiver, you create an account and fill out your profile. You list the services that you want to offer. Potential clients will contact you, and you can also contact them. These are some job examples listed on the website:

  • childcare
  • senior care
  • pet care
  • housekeeping
  • errand running
  • tutoring
  • house sitting
  • nannying

Once you complete a task, you get paid through direct deposit. This means it may take a few days to receive your payment. a very helpful FAQ section for caregivers.

29. Use Facebook To Host A Virtual Garage Sale

If you have a Facebook account, you can easily host a virtual garage sale. This is 100% free for you, and you have tons of flexibility. You don’t need to join special groups to sell your unwanted items. I’ve listed some general steps you can take below. Tailor them to suit your needs.

  • Take high-quality photos of the items you want to sell.
  • Create a Facebook photo album for your virtual garage sale.
  • Write a caption for each photo that describes the item and lists a price.
  • If you’re open to offers, make sure to write that in the caption.
  • In the album’s description, write a bit about what you’re selling.
  • Make sure to list payment options you’ll accept.
  • If you’re willing to ship items for a fee, mention this as well.

Again, you may tweak this list a bit to make it work for you. A lot of my Facebook friends host virtual garage sales just like these. I noticed that people get the best results when they’ll take price offers. It also helps if you’re willing to deliver the items to local buyers.

If you want to increase exposure, set the album to Public and ask friends to share it. There’s a good chance a few people would be happy to help you get the word out.

30. Provide Car Wash Services

Getting a car washed can be pretty expensive. In 2013, Angie’s List stated that the most basic car wash services were $6 to $9. For full-service washes, the cost was $12 to $20. Those prices have only increased over time, but this gives you a great advantage.

If you have a few essential tools, you can easily provide car wash services. Interior and exterior cleaning kits cost as little as $20 each. You can quickly earn back that investment plus more.

The key to making quick cash is making sure your prices are lower than local services. A Google search can help you find local prices.

There are lots of ways you can advertise your car wash services. Reach out to neighbors, friends, and family members. Ask them to spread the word to people they know.

Post a quick status on Facebook about your services and prices. There’s a good chance you’ll get interested customers who want to save money.

31. Offer To Walk Dogs For Friends, Family, And Neighbors

Professional dog walking is another service that people spend a lot of money on. Angie’s List says that pet owners typically pay $15 to $20 for a 20-minute walk, $20 to $30 for a 30-minute walk, and $30 to $45 for two walks per day. Those numbers add up really fast!

If you want to make money quickly, offer to walk dogs for people you know. Charge about $5 less than competitors, and you’ll really stand out. You can also list dog walking services on Craigslist to get more clients. This is a simple and effective way to get cash in your pocket today.

32. Perform Seasonal Yard Work

Performing yard work is yet another old-school way to earn cash immediately. No matter what season it is, there’s always some type of outdoor maintenance today. Mow lawns and pull weeds during warmer months, rake leaves in the fall, and shovel snow in the winter. You get the picture!

To make money from this gig, you’ll need to spread the word about your services. Again, there are tons of ways to do that – texting, social media, Craigslist, flyers, and more. You can charge an hourly rate or fixed price.

If you’re open to taking payment offers, make sure to mention that. Give this a try, and you’ll likely have some cash within a few hours.

33. Become An Amazon Flex Driver

Amazon has offered a lot of work-from-home options over the years. One of their newest opportunities is the Amazon Flex program. As an Amazon Flex driver, you deliver Amazon packages in your area.

This gig pays an impressive $18 to $25 per hour. They are currently hiring in over 50 cities and states, and the list keeps growing.

The gig itself is impressive, too. The hours are very flexible, and you get to build your own schedule. There are hours available every day of the week.

You’ll have to wait for your first paycheck, but this is a seriously good opportunity. If you need a significant amount of cash, consider this side gig. It may be perfect for you.

34. Post ‘For Sale’ Ads On Craigslist

For more than 20 years, Craigslist has been the go-to website for selling items locally. I personally list items for sale on Craigslist a few times per year. It’s 100% free to use, and you get paid in cash.

I’ve made money a few hours after posting my items. The longest it’s ever taken is 1-2 weeks.

You don’t need an account to post for sale ads on Craigslist. However, making one is super easy and helps you keep track of everything. To start selling, go to your local Craigslist page and click ‘for sale’.

Click the ‘post’ link in the upper right corner. Then you’ll click the radio button that says ‘for sale by owner’.

From there, you’re walked through the entire process. Make a title for your listing, set your price, and write your ad.

Posting pictures of your items for sale is optional, but I always do it. After all, you wouldn’t want to buy something you’d never seen before.

Interested buyers can call, e-mail, or text you to arrange a sale. Meet up with the buyers, get cash for your items, and you’re all set. Make sure to read the Craigslist Personal Safety page so things go as smoothly as possible.

35. Download The Shopkick App

I mentioned Shopkick as a receipt scanning app, but you can use it to earn in even more ways. There are a few additional ways to earn points with Shopkick. You can:

  • Earn points for walking into stores. Stores like Wal-Mart and Target give me 25 points each just for visiting them. Make sure your Bluetooth is enabled for this to work.
  • Scan barcodes on store items. In the app, you’ll find lists of items at various stores. Scanning the items using your smartphone will earn you points. I’ve earned between 10 and 50 points per item on average.
  • Link your debit card to earn points per dollar you spend. Best Buy currently offers 1 point per $1 spent, and ULTA offers 3 points per $1 spent. If you’re already planning to make a purchase, link your card for free points.
  • Watch videos in the Discover feed. Once a week or so, I’ll get a notification to view the Discover feed in the Shopkick app. There are advertisements in the feed, and you can often earn a few points for watching video ads.

The only downside to Shopkick is that you only get paid with gift cards. However, there are a lot of gift cards to choose from. I regularly get Amazon and Target gift cards so I can save cash. You can also sell gift card codes instantly through Reddit’s Gift Card Exchange.

36. Borrow Money Through Reddit

I learned about Reddit’s Borrow Subreddit from a fellow freelance writer. He mentioned that he used it in between paychecks and that it’s 100% legit. Over 13,000 Reddit users subscribe to this sub. They have fair rules and active moderators, so it’s certainly worth checking out.

To borrow money, you post your location, the amount you’d like to borrow, and your preferred payment method. You can offer to pay interest; this seems to attract more lenders. But I’ve seen requests without interest, too.

Make sure to read the rules on the right-hand sidebar for more details. You’ll want to follow them correctly in order to get your loan. If you’re successful, you can get the money you need via PayPal within mere hours.

37. Sign Up With RentAFriend

RentAFriend is definitely one of the most unique ways to get cash. As the name suggests, you get paid to be a friend to someone – it’s 100 percent legit.

You get to set your own schedule and prices, so you get total flexibility with this gig. Registering to be a friend is 100% free.

38. Join Class Action Lawsuits

I didn’t know much about class action lawsuits until I read Click and Collect: How to Make Money From Class Action Lawsuits. A class action lawsuit is a type of lawsuit where several people are represented by one person.

You don’t need a lawyer to join them, and you don’t have to pay any fees.

I’ll use a current class action lawsuit against as an example. Safeway, a popular grocery store, is being sued for misrepresenting their olive oil. If you purchased Safeway Olive Oil between May 2010 and December 2016, you can join the suit.

For this suit, you don’t have to provide proof of your purchase. You’ll get paid up to $1.25 for filling out the online form for it.

The payment amount is low, but that’s pretty common. Class action lawsuits are usually filed against large corporations. If a ruling is made in favor of the people, everyone receives payment. The payment is usually fairly small because it’s split between thousands or even millions of people.

You can visit Class Action Rebates to see which lawsuits you’re eligible for. Some of them require you to provide proof of purchase, but others don’t require any proof.

Simply fill out the forms online and receive your payment in the mail. It’s not immediate cash, but it’s fairly quick and totally free.

39. Sell Your Used And New Makeup Online

When I first read about selling makeup online, I was interested but cautious. Naturally, I did as much research as possible. It turns out this is a legit and popular way to earn quick cash. If your items sell quickly, you can get paid within hours.

To get started, read my article Top 8 Ways To Make Money Selling Makeup Online. My favorite option for selling used makeup is Reddit’s Makeup Exchange.

This community has over 20,000 users, and it’s heavily moderated. You set your own prices and don’t have to pay any fees. If your items are popular, it’s easy to earn cash immediately.

For new makeup items, Poshmark is my top pick. You can sell items online and by using the iPhone or Android app. Taking pictures of your makeup and creating ads is super easy.

Poshmark charges fairly low fees, and they pay via bank direct deposit or check. You can cash out your earnings at any time, too.

40. Earn $25 By Taking A Healthcare Survey

Over the past six months, I’ve seen a healthcare survey posted on Facebook, Reddit, and more. It’s a health insurance research survey run by Joany.

The survey takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes based on user reviews. You’re compensated with a $25 or $50 Amazon gift card, which you can quickly sell for cash.

You do need to meet certain criteria to take the survey. The criteria is listed before you take it, so you don’t have to worry about getting screened out. As of publication, this survey is still open and compensating users for their time. If you’re eligible, take it ASAP to get your gift card payment.

Always clean and sanitize any items you list, too. In your listings, provide as much info as possible about the item. This makes things easier for buyers, so you may be able to earn faster.

42. Donate Sperm At A Sperm Bank

If you’re a healthy adult may, you may be able to donate sperm for money. Sperm banks and fertility centers offer anywhere between $100 to $1,000 for donations – sometimes more.

This isn’t an instant money maker, but it’s a high paying option. You’ll need to pass medical exams to ensure that you’re healthy.

Every donation center has different requirements. Google can help you find one or more near you. Read website FAQ sections or make calls to see if you’re an eligible candidate.

You can’t get cash today for it, but you can start the process. It’s an excellent way to earn cash in case another financial situation arises.

43. Sell Used CDs, DVDs, And More Through Decluttr

If you’re like me, you probably have old CDs and DVDs collecting dust. With online streaming options, people simply don’t need older methods. Fortunately, you don’t have to toss them out when you don’t want them anymore. You can sell them online through Decluttr.

Decluttr is a buyback website that will purchase your used electronics and other items. There are a few things that make Decluttr stand out from other buyback websites. Here are some highlights:

44. Borrow Money From Someone You Know

You may feel hesitant to seek out cash from a friend or family member. However, this is one of the fastest ways to get money immediately. Try not to feel embarrassed about asking. Almost everyone experiences a financial emergency at some point. And it never hurts to simply ask.

To get the best results, I recommend doing two things. First and foremost, be totally honest with the people you ask. Let them know you’re struggling, and tell them what you need the money for.

Next, offer to sign an agreement about repaying the lender or lenders. You can Google “repayment agreement template” to find hundreds of options.

You can also offer to pay back the loan plus interest, but only offer if you can stick to it. Choose a realistic interest amount that you’re sure you can pay. If this isn’t an option, just follow the advice above.

You never know who may be willing to help in your time of need.

45. Become a Grocery Shopper Through Instacart

Instacart is a unique grocery shopping and delivery service. Millions of customers use this platform, and you can get paid to be a shopper. You set your own schedule and work as little or as often as you’d like. Shoppers are paid on a weekly basis, so this is a pretty fast way to get cash.

There are two positions available; you can be an in-store shopper or full-service shopper. In-store shoppers don’t need a vehicle, and they work the most flexible schedules.

According to Huffington Post, the minimum base pay is $10 per hour. During busy times, shoppers can earn more than $20 per hour. That’s pretty impressive, especially since you get paid in just seven days.

46. Get A Credit Card Cash Advance

If you already have a credit card, you can often get a credit card cash advance. You basically get a portion of your credit limit in the form of cash. Typically, you can get the cash through any ATM. Double check with your credit company to make sure you follow the right steps.

The downside to getting a cash advance is that you’ll owe a fee for withdrawing cash. For example, let’s say that your credit card limit is $800, and you’re eligible for a $200 cash advance The fee is $10.

This doesn’t include any ATM fees, which you’ll also have to pay. Additional charges and fees can vary.

This route lets you get cash today, but you need to make sure you can repay all of the fees. If you are confident that you can repay, you may consider this option.

47. Become An Egg Donor

Healthy females can receive large payouts by donating their eggs. This is another option that doesn’t pay immediately. However, it’s an excellent way to build an emergency savings fund.

Egg donor pay generally ranges from $5,000 to $10,000. The payment is so high because it’s an extensive process.

To donate your eggs, you have to complete numerous health assessments. You also have to take fertility medication and attend regular health care appointments.

The entire process takes a little over a month, but it requires a lot of effort. If you’re interested in becoming a donor, visit The World Egg Bank to find opportunities near you.

48. Sign Up For Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are a legitimate way to earn money, and they often pay hundreds or thousands of dollars. The financial downside is that it can take weeks or longer to receive full payment. But I still think it’s an important option to mention because it can prevent future cash emergencies.

To find clinical trials, start out by visiting this government website. Fill out the search form to find active or upcoming studies.

To find options near you, list your country, city, and state. You’ll be taken to a new page that list study titles, required health conditions, and locations where the studies take place. Click on study titles to learn more about them.

You can also easily find local clinical trials via Google. I just typed in my city name and ‘clinical trials’ to find options. One local research clinic currently offers $875 for one trial and $1,300 for another.

As you can see, this is much more than you’ll make through other methods. If you’re willing to wait, it’s worth considering.

49. Sell Stock Photos Online

If you have a high-quality camera, you can earn money quickly by selling stock photos online. Stock photos are pictures that are used for commercial or personal use. For example, Google “mopping floors” and look at the images.

You’ll see thousands of similar pictures. These are stock photos that people and companies pay to use.

The amount of money you’ll get paid depends on the site that you sell to. Some websites pay you every time your photo is downloaded. Some professional sites pay a few hundred dollars to get full rights to your photos. I suggest checking out these three popular sites:

This option is low on my list because it’s hard to know when and how much you’ll earn. You may sell some photos in a day or two. In other cases, it may take weeks or longer. Shutterstock pays around $0.25 per download, but you never know how many downloads you’ll get.

Still, I think this is a solid option if you enjoy taking photos. You can easily turn a hobby into a way to earn money. Add this opportunity to your list if you want to make extra cash over time.

50. Consider A Payday Loan (With Caution!)

If you have steady employment, it’s pretty easy to get a payday loan. I only recommend getting a payday loan if you truly have to. It gets you instant cash, but it comes at a price. It can also lead to a difficult cycle of debt and money troubles.

To get a payday loan, you can find local and online lenders. You provide proof of income to show that you can repay the loan. You also have to repay interest on the loan. Interest rates are usually pretty high for these loans. I’ll list a potential scenario below:

  • You seek out a $100 loan from a payday lender.
  • You’re approved for the loan and get cash.
  • Within two weeks, you have to pay back the entire loan plus interest.
  • Your total repayment will be between $110 and $130 on average.

Because of the interest rates, it’s easy to get trapped into a cycle of repeatedly taking out loans. So only use this option if you are 100% sure you can pay back the entire loan plus interest. If you absolutely need cash right away but can repay it, this method may suit you.

Final Thoughts

With this long list of options, you can solve money problems quickly. This post includes many ways to get cash today or quickly. Try every option that appeals to you in order to meet your financial goal.
