WANT TO EARN EXTRA MONEY?

long game reviewSometimes the hardest part about boosting your checking or savings account isn’t necessarily earning the money but managing to save the money you earned. Especially if you are the type of person who tends to often spend outside your means.

Personally, I find saving money to be a big challenge and have to mentally and physically reign in any unnecessary expenses.

Things like eating out more than once a week, seeing new movies every time they arrive in theater, or even shopping for new clothes when everything in my closet is personally functional.

If you find it hard to save money each month, then the first step is to look for ways you can creatively and realistically save money without feeling like you need to deprive yourself of having fun in life.

That’s when you can turn to fun applications like Long Game, which encourage you and help you save money simply by playing games. Sounds unreal? It isn’t and I’ll break it all down for you in this review.

What Is Long Game?

The Long Game Savings app is a free, FDIC-insured, interest bearing savings account. This free app allows you to sign up and link to your bank account and set a schedule to deposit into your Long Game savings account.

The frequency of this deposit and how much is controlled by each user. Long Game becomes a fun past time because every time you save you earn Coins, which can then be used to play games on the app to earn real cash prizes and cryptocurrency.

The premise is simple. The more you save, the more Coins you earn, and the better chance you can win cash prizes to boost your growing savings account. Long Game is perfect for anyone that struggles to save money and needs some added incentive and a little fun to stay consistent with it.

How To Get Started with Long Game

To sign up with Long Game is completely free. And the only potential risk factor is that you have to link your bank account in order to deposit into your Long Game savings account.

Since this is bank related savings, not only will you need to provide an email and account number for your bank, but you’ll also be asked to provide your address and a social security number.

If sharing this personal information makes you nervous, you can rest assured, because your Long Game savings account is FDIC insured and you can remove all your money (if you want to) at any given time.

The money is held by their partner bank Blue Ridge Bank, which has been established since 1893.

Once your account is set up, you can begin to fund it with a minimum of $5 and increase the amount you save going forward. You may opt to put in $5 every pay period, weekly or choose whatever frequency of choice.

Deposits earn $.1% interest and in addition to this, Long Game gives you several chances to win cash prizes.

Keep in mind that when you open a new account with Long Game, you can earn 300 Coins right away and up to 500 Coins if you use a promo code.

If you open an account and automatically set up your account for recurring payments into your savings account, you can earn up to 5,000 Coins.

How Does Long Game Work?

Long Game is paid a referral fee from partner banks when a new savings account is opened. Long Game then passes along a little of their earnings to their customers in the form prizes.

Long Game also rewards their users with free crypto with Crypto Rewards. The longer you use Long Game and level up, you’ll earn free crypto assets.

What is crypto exactly? Here is Long Game’s definition:

“Crypto” is a general term referring to a variety of systems, assets and currencies that use strong “cryptography.” Crypto uses complex computations to create new units of data with essentially unbreakable security.”

Crypto is fairly new technology that is shaping today’s economy. While investing in crypto is a bit risky when it involves your own money, it doesn’t hurt to experience it via Long Game’s Crypto Rewards because you don’t have to touch your money at all.

You can just experience the perks as a Long Game saver.

Overall, Long Game is acting as a regular savings account with the added perk of giving you opportunities to earn rewards and cash prizes.

How To Earn Money with Long Game

Earning Coins

The primary way to make extra money using the Long Game app is by earning Coins. The way you earn Coins is by saving money (remember that’s the whole point of the app).

The initial earnings start at 1 Coin per $1 put into your savings account, but does get a diminishing return with each week that passes.

For example if you want to earn at least 7 Coins a week (1 Coin a day) you’ll have to have a minimum of $7 in your account. But if you put an additional $7 in your account for the following week, you may only earn around 5 Coins for that second week.

The key thing to remember is that you earn coins when you save money, so you will want to set aside an amount to save pretty regularly (which is why recurring deposits are encouraged).

Using Your Coins

Okay, now that you’ve accrued a few coins, what can you do with them? You’ll want to note that the Coins you earn have no cash value themselves and can’t be converted into cash to boost your savings account with.

Instead, Coins give you an opportunity to earn cash by playing lottery-esque games. There’s a Flip It- Instant Win Game, that can cost you 60 Coins and give you a chance to win $100.

Or there are Spin to Win Games which can cost you Coins based on your level (Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc) and can earn you a cash prize ranging from $500 – $1,000.

And then there are the games that offer the big bucks, like the Omega Millions (played similarly to the standard Mega Millions) which is a weekly drawing that costs 20 coins and could get you the grand prize of $1,000,000.

Think of your Coins as your chance to play some free scratch offs. You can play games as much as you want, as long as you have the Coins to do so. In some instances, you may not win a cash prize but could win more Coins, which just helps keep the ball rolling.

And as will all forms of gambling, your chances of winning are totally based on chance. But since people are successfully using Long Game and earning money, you can bet that in the long run you will earn something for your savings efforts.

Where Does My Earned Cash Go?

When you use your Coins and earn cash, the money won will immediately go into your Long Game savings account. How much you are able to boost your account will depend on how frequently you are able to play games, which comes down to keeping up a study supply of Coins.

There have been users who have earned $10 to $20 or more instantly off of just playing one game (like those random lucky scratch offs you come across from time to time).

You may be just as lucky or you may only earn Coins. Remember, that’s okay too because Coins allow you to stay active with the games.

Also, you need to remember that you are able to remove money from your Long Game savings account at any time, so you don’t need to let the money sit there like a rainy day emergency fund.

Although, since you likely downloaded Long Game so that you can save more money, it’s probably in your best interest to view those funds as emergency cash and only take some out when you need it, that way you never see your savings account completely depleted.

Pros and Cons of Long Game

Pros

  • Free to download and use
  • FDIC secured savings account
  • Chances to win cash prizes and cryptocurrency
  • Earn Coins every time you save
  • Save with as little as $5 at a time deposited into your savings account
  • Can remove cash at any given time
  • Money earned from cash prizes goes into your savings account
  • Earn .1% on the cash in your savings account (not the best interest rate but better than nothing)
  • Adjust your automatic transfers whenever you need to (nothing is permanent)
  • Play as many games as many times as you like (if you have the Coins)

Cons

  • Can only withdraw cash from your savings once the money has cleared your account, which can take 3-5 business days
  • Chances of winning the big cash prizes are small
  • There is a cap on the daily prizes doled out, at least for the bigger cash prizes
  • Earning cryptocurrency is a bit weird and takes some getting used to (and needs to be transferred to a crypto wallet such as the app Trust)

Is Long Game Legit or a Scam?

Believe it or not, the Long Game savings app is totally legitimate! They really are trying to reach a demographic of both people that want to save more money and people that enjoy lottery-like games.

They aren’t scamming you because they make sure that your money is secured, you get to set your saving limits and the frequency in which you save, and you can take out your funds at any given time.

The power pretty much stays in your hands with Long Game, which personally I find very reassuring.

Plus I think the app has a lot of potential to continue to grow and give you other ways to earn Coins and cash prizes. Maybe quarterly incentives to those people that throw a big chunk of cash into their savings account?

Is Long Game Worth the Download?

The games really make Long Game  worth the download, because I feel that it only encourages you to save more money, because your saved cash is never at risk. All you have to do to keep earning your Coins (the only way to play games) is to save money.

You may only be doing it to collect Coins, but after a while you will be pleasantly surprised by how much and how easily you have saved money. And you get to enjoy playing random scratch offs and Wheel-of-Fortune-esque games along the way.

If you want to succeed at saving more money with Long Game, it’s encouraged to set up recurring deposits into your savings account. A lot of users opt to set aside a certain amount per paycheck, which gets your saved money set aside right away.

This way you are guaranteed to earn some Coins every day.

If you are someone who feels like you’re scraping by to save, Long Game could turn out to be the perfect app for your. It willl get you into the habit of saving your money on a regular basis and you can contribute as little as $5 at a time whenever you have some spare cash available.

Other Savings Apps Worth Checking Out

Savings apps aren’t anything new. There are apps like Stash, Mint, and Acorns that I consider all worthy of checking out because they all serve their purpose in helping you save money.

Long Game is different then the others in that you get to put money into a savings account and earn an opportunity to win money at the same time via Coins. I think Long Game makes saving money feel a lot more fun than the other apps on the market do.

Final Thoughts

I think Long Game has pretty much nailed it when it comes to making saving money fun. The graphics are very appealing and the games are easy to play and somewhat addictive (who doesn’t love to spin a wheel to see if they’ll win some cash?).

If you are in need of saving more money but just haven’t managed to find the incentive you need to do so (beyond the obvious reasons) I highly recommend checking out Long Game.

You get to decide how much you save, how often you save, and take your money when you want it. And when you save, you increase your chances to earn cash prizes and free cash is always a win in my book.
