Speak Up Surveys is a long-standing rewards site that pays you for sharing your opinion. With a great payout rate and lots of users across the globe, we’ve decided to put together this full Speak Up Surveys review.
In this review, we’re going to explain what Speak Up Surveys is, how much you can make, whether it’s a scam or legit and whether it’s worth your time or not.
Keep in mind that Speak Up Surveys is 100% FREE to join. With that said, let’s dive right in.
What Is Speak Up Surveys?
Speak Up Surveys is a free survey site that pays you to take surveys online. Each time you answer a survey, you’re given a certain amount of money. You can use this money to cash out for real cash prizes such as gift cards.
The reason Speak Up Surveys is able to pay you is because the answers you provide to each survey are given to companies. Companies then use this information to help improve their products and services.
This is pretty cool – not only are you earning extra cash, but you’re helping improve the products and services that consumers use on a daily basis.
What Are The Pros And Cons Of Speak Up Surveys?
Here’s a quick list of pros and cons to Speak Up Surveys to give you a quick idea of what they’re about:
- 100% FREE to join – you should never have to pay to join a survey site
- Minimum payout is pretty low at $10 USD
- Quickly increase rewards amount (by $5 or $10) by signing-up for free-trial offers
- Surveys are extremely quick
- Expect to earn at a rate of $7 – $12 per hour
- Information you provide goes toward helping companies improve their products and services
- If you are ineligible for a survey, they will tell you immediately as to not waste your time
- International survey site, meaning it’s available in a wide-range of countries
- No PayPal cash out option
- You won’t qualify for every survey
- Somewhat limited in the amount of surveys
- May take up to about 1 or 2 weeks to receive your reward
- Surveys can be quite tedious after a while (as with all survey sites)
- Uncertain as to how long surveys will take before you take them
How Much Can I Earn With Speak Up Surveys?
There are four key determining factors that ultimately decide how much you can earn with Speak Up Surveys:
- Your location.
- How often you take surveys.
- How quickly you take surveys.
- The demographic information you fill out in your profile.
One of my favorite things about Speak Up Surveys is that they’re considered to be an international survey site. This means that they’re not limited to just a few select countries.
We can’t say that they’re available in every country, but there’s definitely a LOT. If you’re not sure, you might as well sign-up and try.
Keep in mind that they surveys you take in one country may be different that the surveys available in another. With that said, the payout rate might be slightly different.
While we can’t be certain, our guess is going to be that higher-paying surveys are going to be more readily available in more developed countries. For the purposes of this review, we’re going to cover what you could earn in the US.
How Often You Take Surveys
The more often you take surveys, the more chances you have to earn – pretty simple. I usually find that there are new offers available at least once a week, if not more. For this reason, try logging-in once every few days for new offers.
Surveys are sometimes limited to the amount of users that can take them. If you see a survey you’re interested in, go ahead and snatch it up before it goes away.
One downside of taking surveys with Speak Up Surveys: they don’t tell you how long surveys will take before you take them. However, not to worry. We give you a pretty sound estimation down below.
You can also choose to receive email notifications to find out whenever new surveys become available.
How Quickly You Take Surveys
The more quickly you take surveys, the sooner you get through them and thus increasing your rate of earnings. However, we advise a word of warning about this. You need to be completely honest when taking surveys with Speak Up Surveys.
The reason for this is because if they find out at any time you’re providing inconsistent answers, they may stop giving you surveys or suspend your account.
This means that all of your hard work could have gone to waste. Let’s say you have $5 in your account from taking surveys. You get lazy and stop answering honestly, only to rush through the survey.
They find out and suspend your account, and that $5 is gone. While you can email them and ask them to reinstate your account (which has happened) there’s a chance they might not. It’s best to be on the safe side.
The Demographic Information That You Provide
This is quite important when determining how much you can earn with Speak Up Surveys. The surveys they provide provide are completely determined on your demographics.
Therefore, it’s best to answer these as honestly as possible. Not only will you be providing accurate information, but the surveys will be more interesting since the questions they provide will be more relevant to you.
Furthermore, this way all of your answers will be consistent. Speak Up Surveys won’t be suspicious that you’re providing false information, and there’s no chance for them to suspend your account this way.
Be sure to take as many profiles as you can. When I first signed-up, there were about 8 or 9 profile surveys to fill-out. After filling all of them out, the amount of surveys available almost doubled.
So How Much Can I Earn?
We’ve found that for US users (and other English-speaking countries), you can typically earn about $7 – $12 per hour taking online surveys with Speak Up Surveys. For a survey site, this is a pretty good hourly rate.
Keep in mind that this does not mean you can consistently earn at this rate. It only means that when you do take surveys, you are earning at a rate of about $7 – $12 per hour.
You’re probably asking how we were able to calculate this out. We simply experimented by taking surveys and finding out how long they took and how much they paid.
The first survey we took only paid $.50 cents, but it literally only took 3 minutes to complete. At this rate, you’re essentially earning at $10 per hour.
Other surveys paid at a rate that was a bit lower, and others at a rate that were slightly higher. It really depends on what survey you take.
As mentioned above, unfortunately there’s no way to determine beforehand how long surveys will take since they don’t give you an estimation. However, we’ve come to the conclusion that most are fairly short.
How Do I Get Started With Speak Up Surveys?
Getting started with Speak Up Surveys is quite simple. In order to make sure you don’t miss any details, we’re going to quickly walk you through the entire process.
Registration with Speak Up Surveys is 100% FREE, and you can sign-up using this link here. This online survey site is available to many countries across the world, but it is possible they’re not available in your country.
To sign-up, all you need to do is answer a few personal questions (name, email, etc) and create a password for your account. Don’t forget to confirm your email to activate your account!
You can also choose to log-in using your Facebook account.
2. Take your first survey.
In order to complete registration, you’ll need to fill out your profile information. Again, be sure to be as honest as possible. Speak Up Surveys uses this information to determine which surveys you’re eligible for.
This shouldn’t take longer than a couple of minutes.
3. Take surveys.
Now that you’ve gotten registration out of the way, as long as you’ve confirmed your email you can start taking surveys. Before taking each survey, you’ll be told how much you’ll earn once finished.
If you’re ineligible for a survey, you’ll be notified immediately. Many survey sites wait until you’re halfway done through a survey to tell you you’re not eligible, but not Speak Up Surveys.
4. Fill out more profiles.
By filling out more profiles, it’s more likely that you’ll have more surveys available.
5. Claim rewards.
You need a minimum of $10 to cash out. Right now they are currently offering gift cards to Amazon and Dining Dough, or you can exchange for a $10 prepaid debit MasterCard.
How Can I Increase My Earnings With Speak Up Surveys?
As mentioned above, by filling out all of the different types profiles available, you will increase your chance of receiving more surveys.
Yet you can also earn more cash by referring your friends. For each friend you refer, you get a bonus of $.50 cents up to a maximum of 10 referrals.
Not only that, but for every 5 friends that you refer you’re automatically entered in a drawing to earn either $100, $250 or $100.
I usually find that a quick and easy way to spread the word is to make a post to Facebook or Twitter. While the referral bonus isn’t much, posting your link only takes a second, and you never know when you’re going to win the sweepstakes drawing.
You can also earn more with Speak Up by taking some of their free-trial offers. You can find these in their rewards section.
Each time you complete a free-trial offer, you’re given either $5 or $10. However, keep in mind that these are free-trials and may require payment information.
If you do sign-up just for the cash, be sure to cancel the free-trial before the payment period begins. Otherwise, you can still earn a decent amount by just taking surveys instead.
Is Speak Up Surveys A Scam Or Legit?
A common question I receive about Speak Up Surveys (and most survey sites on FFL) is whether Speak Up Surveys is legit or scam.
From my personal experience, I can say that Speak Up Surveys is legit. This is because they’ve always paid me the right amount and on time.
While it is frustrating to have to sometimes wait up to 2 weeks to receive my reward, I’ve always been paid. That’s something I definitely can’t complain about.
Furthermore, Speak Up Surveys is pretty honest about their site. They state that “you won’t get rich taking surveys,” with them, but you do have the opportunity to earn some extra cash on the side, and that’s what survey sites are all about.
They do state that you do have the potential to earn a couple of hundred per week. I do find this to be improbable, unless you happen to have the right demographic information in which you have a plentiful amount of surveys.
In order to prevent burnout, we suggest only taking 3 surveys a day.
I find that based on my profile information and the surveys that I receive, it is possible for me to earn around $50 per week. However, this is about 5 hours of my time to earn this amount.
Not bad for a free online survey site.
What Are Some Other Great Rewards Programs Like Speak Up Surveys?
Just because you’re registered with Speak Up Surveys doesn’t mean you have to stop there. There are plenty of other great FREE online rewards programs out there.
Here’s a quick list of our top 3:
- Registration Bonus: $10
- Join Ibotta
Ibotta is by far one of my favorite rewards programs out there, and definitely the best receipt scanning apps. Ibotta pays you to take pictures of your receipts and can be done in just a few simple steps:
- Sign-up for Ibotta using promo code qFTVA to get a $10 bonus when you scan your first receipt.
- When you purchase groceries, electronics, prescriptions, meals at restaurants or almost anything, keep your receipt. Search for the offer on Ibotta.
- If you find a matching offer, you can earn anywhere between $.25 cents to $5 per offer. Keep in mind you can pass this amount by having more than one offer per receipt.
- Take a picture of your receipt. Just be sure to hold it on a flat surface, make sure the image is clear, and take a picture of the entire receipt.
- Wait up to 48 hours to receive cash in your Ibotta account.
- Once your account reaches a minimum balance of $20, you can cash out for free rewards such as gift cards to Amazon or direct deposits to PayPal.
- Registration Bonus: None
- Join Survey Junkie
Survey Junkie doesn’t give a registration bonus, but I usually find that I can earn at a rate of $12 per hour on average, and sometimes even more.
They have quite a few surveys available, and are one of the more legitimate survey sites out there on the web. We suggest logging-in every 1-2 days to check for new surveys available.
Don’t bother with low-paying surveys as they aren’t worth your time. You’ll end up getting burnt out with little cash to show for it. Otherwise, it’s a great survey site that pays out with gift cards or direct deposits to PayPal.
- Registration Bonus: $5 – $10
- Join Swagbucks
Swagbucks is probably one of the most popular rewards sites on the web. Get paid to take surveys, watch videos, clip coupons, shop online, play games, complete free-trial offers and almost any other online task you can think of.
The great thing about Swagbucks is that it’s difficult to get bored. Not only are their offers extremely abundant, but there’s a wide variety as well.
As of recently they started giving a sign-up bonus of anywhere between $5 – $10. On average, I can easily earn about $10 per hour, and I can usually keep doing this with the amount of offers available. The downside is that it’s difficult to surpass this threshold.
If you’re looking for even more survey sites out there similar to Speak Up Surveys, here’s a few more:
- Vindale Research ($2 sign-up bonus with high-paying surveys)
- Pinecone Research (flat $3 payout per survey)
- Springboard America (one of the highest-paying survey sites on the web)
- PointClub ($5 sign-up bonus)
- Shoptracker (earn cash without actually taking surveys)
Is Speak Up Surveys Worth It?
Speak Up Surveys is not the highest paying survey site on the web. Nor do they offer a wide variety of rewards. However, I do love the fact that they’re honest about how much they pay and how much you can earn.
In my experience, Speak Up Surveys is worth it. I don’t find many survey sites that are willing to pay me at a rate of $10 per hour (or more). We suggest at least giving it a try.
If you don’t like it, you can always move on and try other free online survey sites.
For an online survey site, Speak Up Surveys is one of the better ones. While not as high-paying as sites like PointClub or Survey Junkie, you can still earn a decent amount.
Unfortunately, it’s difficult to determine how long surveys will take since they don’t give you an estimated timeframe. They only tell you how much you’ll earn.
From my personal experience, expect to earn at a rate of $7 – $12 per hour. This is coming from a user in the US.
The best part about Speak Up Surveys? You’re not limited to location. They’re available in a wide-range of countries across the globe.
We hope you enjoyed our Speak Up Surveys review. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them down below – we love responding to our readers! Thanks for reading and happy frugaling.
