For those of you who love to shop at TJ Maxx, you should be happy to know that you could be saving up to 20% or more on all of their products. Just be sure to follow the steps listed below in order to maximize your cash back. If you have any other methods of saving more at TJ Maxx, just leave them in comments below.
1. Get A Cash Back Credit Card
TJ Maxx is considered a department store, but for our purposes we want to get a credit card that gives us the maximum amount of cash back on all purchases. The best cash back credit card on the market that allows us to do this is the Visa Blispay Credit Card.
This card comes with no annual fee and you get 2% cash back on all purchases no matter the category. Not only that, but the cash back is automatically applies to your statement as credit, and for purchases of $199 or more you automatically get 6 months interest-free financing. Here’s a few more specifics below:
- Can be used with Apple Pay
- 2% cash back on all purchases
- No cap on cash back earned
- 6-month interest free financing on purchases of $199 or higher
- No annual fee
- Not eligible to minors
- Pay directly from your phone
- Cash back automatically applied to your statement as credit
2. Sign-Up For TopCashBack
This step requires us to sign-up for a cash back portal, an online website that gives you cash back when shopping online. These portals partner with thousands of retailers across the web, and when you use one of their affiliate links to make a purchase, they earn a commission.
Instead of keeping this money all for themselves, they give the majority of it back to you in the form of “cash back.” The portal that we want to use is called TopCashBack – one of the best shopping portals out there, and they even give you a $10 bonus just for signing-up. Registration is 100% free.
Once you reach a minimum of $10 in earned cash back in your account, you can withdraw it to either PayPal, Amazon Gift Cards or American Express Gift Cards (the latter 2 gives you a 3% bonus). Keep in mind that this portal can be used for almost all retailers across the web, not just the ones featured in this article.
3. Register For Raise
Note: This step only required you to register for Raise. Do not take any action in order to get the maximum amount of cash back.
Raise is an online gift card vendor that sells gift cards at a discount. The reason they’re able to do this is because people want to get rid of their unwanted gift cards and sell them for cheap to sites like this. Raise then marks them up in order to make a profit, but they still sell them for much cheaper than their actual retail value.
It doesn’t cost anything to register, an you also get a $5 credit toward your first purchase. Not only that, but for each friend you refer you also receive a bonus of $5. Thank you to those who use our referral links on this page and supporting FFL!
4. Buy A Discounted TJ Maxx Gift Card
Now we can finally purchase our discounted gift card. The first thing we’re going to want to do is log-on to the TopCashBack page. Search for “Raise” in the search bar. You should notice that the results display that you can get up to 2% cash back when you make a purchase at Raise.
Fortunately, TJ Maxx is one of those cards that is eligible for this amount of cash back.
Click on the “Cashback” button to be redirected to the Raise website. TopCashBack will automatically keep track of your purchase, so there’s no need to report it to them and you’ll still get the 2% back.
Now that you’re on the Raise website, log-in and search for “TJ Maxx” in their search bar. Right now their gift cards are going for 19% off their retail value.
Make sure that you purchase their Egift cards, as physical ones can take as long as 5-7 business days to arrive at your door. Click on the “Buy Now” button to purchase your gift card, and be sure to use the Blispay Visa Card that we mentioned above when buying the gift card so that you can add an extra 2% to your cash back.
Usually it takes only a few hours for the gift card to arrive in your inbox, but it may take as long as 24 hours. The cash back to your TopCashBack account can take as long as 30 days to show up in your account, but it usually only takes a few days.
Let’s do a quick recap of the amount of cash back we earned and the steps we went through in order to get to that result:
- Blispay Credit Card on our gift card purchase – 2%
- TopCashBack shopping portal to get cash back on our Raise purchase – 2%
- TJ Maxx gift card at a discount through Raise – 19%
By following all of the steps above, we just saved 23% on all of our TJ Maxx purchases. Take note that you may not be able to use the TJ Maxx gift cards to make purchases on other in-store gift cards such as Vanilla Visa Cards.
Even if you don’t like shopping at TJ Maxx, you can still use the steps mentioned above on any store. This has allowed me to save an average of 7% – 10% on all purchases. Never spend 100% when you don’t have to.
While the process may seem a bit long, once you get used to the steps, they shouldn’t take longer than just a few minutes each time. If you have any questions or comments on the steps mentioned above, we’d love to help out by responding to your comments below. Thanks for reading and happy frugaling!
