It can be difficult to sort through all of the work-from-home scams on the internet. This is due to the fact that a lot of sites claim that you can make thousands of dollars per month when you really can’t.
In order to help you out, we’ve put together this list of 50 legitimate ways on how to make money from home.
All of the items on this list are ones that I’ve tried before, and I guarantee that they always pay. Not only that, but some of the tasks are incredibly simple to complete.
See one that’s not on the list and should be? Feel free to let us know in the comments below.
With that said, let’s get started. Here’s a list of 50 ways to make money from home.
1. Earn $250+/Month In Extra Income When You Share Your Opinion
Online survey sites are great when searching for ways on how to make money from home. A lot of them pay at a rate between $10 – $15 per hour and come with a sign-up bonus.
Both of these sites are both legitimate survey sites with an A+ rating form the Better Business Bureau.
Most surveys that pay well tend to take a bit longer. On average, I estimate that you can legitimately earn roughly $3 – $7 every 30 minutes with survey sites.
Just be sure to stick to the higher-paying surveys as to not waste your time. When you’re out of surveys on a specific site, move on to another one.
Here are some of our favorite survey sites that pay well. We suggest trying multiple ones to help you figure out which ones you like best.
- Survey Junkie (plenty of surveys with great pay)
- Vindale Research ($2 sign-up bonus)
- Ipsos (great surveys with free sweepstakes entries)
- PointClub ($5 sign-up bonus)
- Toluna Opinions (earn $1 – $5 sign-up bonus)
2. Stop Throwing Away Your Receipts
There are multiple apps that pay you to take a picture of your receipt straight from your smartphone.
Ibotta is one of the most popular, paying you to take pictures of your receipts that list off groceries, electronics, online purchases and even prescriptions. Get a $10 bonus when you sign-up and scan your first receipt.
When taking pictures of your receipts, just be sure to keep the receipt on a flat surface and take a picture of the entire receipt.
If you’re missing tidbits of information, your account might not receive cash back credit.
Each app works a little bit differently in how they pay you.
Some require you to make specific purchases, some require you to shop and specific stores and other will pay you no matter where or what you buy.
Here’s a quick list of some of our favorites:
3. This Company Will Pay You $36 To Track Your Amazon Purchases
If you like to shop on Amazon, you might as well get paid for it. ShopTracker will pay you to link your Amazon account to their app and to track what you buy each month.
We know it’s legit since it’s backed by the Harris Company, one of the most reputable market research companies across the web.
Each month you’re granted a $3 Visa gift card for leaving the app installed. Leave it installed for a year and receive $36.
At the end of each month you may have to take a short 1 – 5 question survey about your Amazon shopping experience.
This shouldn’t take any longer than a few minutes to complete.
When you sign-up you get a $3 bonus right off the bat. All rewards are sent to you within 24 – 48 hours.
4. Read Your Emails
What if you could make money from home by simply opening emails? InboxDollars is one of the most popular rewards sites on the web and pays you to do things you already do on the internet.
This includes watching videos, reading emails, taking surveys, completing free-trial offers, and more.
Get a $5 bonus when you sign-up as a new user. The great thing about their email rewards program is that you don’t even have to read through the emails. The only requirement is that you open them and scroll through them.
What I really love about InboxDollars is their referral program. For each friend that you refer, you earn 10% of their earnings for life. If they earn $10 you get $1.
5. Install Apps To Your Phone
There isn’t a simpler way to make money from home by installing apps to your phone.
By leaving them installed and running in the background, you get paid while they collect your data.
They usually collect information such as what browser you’re using, your internet speed and what apps you have installed.
Keep in mind that all the data they collect is encrypted and kept completely anonymous. In other words, there’s no way it can be traced back to you.
Here’s a couple of the apps that we recommend:
Nielsen Consumer Panel is by far my favorite on this list. They work in multiple countries and are great about consistently paying you the same amount each month.
Not only that, but you can also install the app on an unlimited amount of devices provided that they’re still seeking members in your area.
For each device that you install the app on you can earn $50/year in passive income. With multiple devices you could easily double or triple your income – or even more.
SurveyConnect works in a very similar manner to the Smart Panel app. Leave the app installed on your phone and earn cash just for letting it run in the background.
You can install the app on as many as 3 devices, earning you a total of $180/year in passive income if you max out your earnings.
The great thing I love about the SurveyConnect program is that they allow you to earn even more cash by referring your friends.
For each friend that you refer, you earn anywhere from $10 – $15 each time they complete a project. When your friends refer a friend of theirs, you can earn anywhere from $2 – $6.
6. Get $5 For Free From Acorns And Invest In Your Future For Free
When you sign-up for the Acorns app you’re automatically given a $5 bonus to invest in your future. Acorns was created in order to help those who don’t have much money but want to start investing.
When you sign-up, you fill out a profile that asks questions about your current financial status. Based on your responses, they’ll give you recommendations on what to invest your money in.
The best part is that you only need $5 to begin and all trades are commission-free.
This is an excellent app that advises you on what to invest in without having the know-how to do so. All of the suggestions for investments come from professional investors and fund managers.
7. Get A Free $10 Amazon Gift Card With MyPoints
MyPoints is a great way to earn cash for things you already do on a daily basis: shop online, take surveys, watch videos, play games and refer your friends.
When you earn your first $20, you’re automatically given a free $10 gift card. You also get a bonus if you refer a friend and they earn their first $20.
MyPoints was originally designed as an online shopping portal to give you cash back when you make purchases online. If you take surveys with MyPoints, expect to earn at a rate of about $8 – $10 per hour.
8. Scan Your Groceries After You Purchase Them
The Homescan Consumer Panel will pay you to scan the barcode on your grocery products after you purchase them. Based on the information that you submit, brands make changes in order to improve their products.
After registration you’ll be put on their waiting list. From there, you’ll be randomly selected to join the panel and a handheld scanner will be scanner will be sent to you in the mail. If you don’t want to use a scanner, you can also use their free mobile app.
Each time you scan a product you’ll be given a certain amount of points. These points can be exchanged for electronic gift cards, toys and other cool prizes. You can earn even more points by taking email surveys.
9. Watch Videos From Home
Nowadays there are plenty of different rewards programs available that pay you to watch videos from home.
Sites like Swagbucks have plenty of different videos to choose from. If you get bored of one category of videos you can always move onto the next.
EarningStation is a rewards site that also pays you to watch videos from home, but they give you a $10 bonus when you sign-up for 5 of their partner companies as well.
All three of these sites pay out in the form of gift cards to a retailer of your choosing or to direct deposits to PayPal. Not only that, but they also have some sort of referral program.
10. Share Your Political Views
YouGov is a platform that connects you with others who want to share their opinions about current events. Get paid to take online surveys and polls. You get a $2 bonus when you register as a new user.
The cool thing about YouGov is that as soon as you answer a question you instantly know the results of others who also took polls. You’re able to quickly see how others feel about about certain political issues and what’s going on in the world.
You need a minimum of $25 to cash out for a gift card of your choosing. Although it may seem like a lot, it usually doesn’t take too long to reach this amount – the sign-up bonus definitely helps. Expect to earn around $8 – $12 per hour.
As an Uber contractor, you get to choose your own hours and ultimately device how much you’re going to make make.
Some people earn enough to take on this role as a full-time job, bringing in anywhere from $3,000 to $6,000 per month in revenue. However, if you live in a small city you might not be able to rake in as much.
Provide your customers with water and candy to get them to leave you 5-star reviews. Keep in mind that you must be 21 years or older and your car has to be around the year 2005 or newer.
Don’t have a car? Not a problem. Uber also has Vehicle Solutions that will rent you a car. You just have to drive a minimum amount of hours per week – and you’ll also want to in order to makeup for the cost of renting.
Keep in mind that Uber charges a base fee of anywhere from 20% – 35% depending on the city that you live in.
12. Start A Blog
Starting a blog is a lot more difficult than it seems. A lot of writing is involved, but once you get the hang of it, it gets a lot easier.
The best thing about starting a blog is that it’s incredibly cheap. I use Bluehost since you can get a year’s worth of hosting for only $48 and a free domain name. Domain names typically cost $10/year and entry-level hosting can cost up to $7 – $8 per month.
Just be sure to choose a topic that you’re interested in because you’re most likely going to have to do a lot of writing. Even if you don’t want to commit to it full-time, you can still earn some extra cash writing on the side.
In fact, I personally spent anywhere from 10-20 hours per week for the past 3 years. It wasn’t until recently that I started going full-time.

13. Earn Cash Back On Almost All Online Purchases
TopCashback is an online shopping portal that gives you cash back each time you shop online. They’ve partnered with thousands of retailers across the web and place all of their affiliate links onto a single website.
Each time you click on one of their links and make a purchase, they earn a small commission. Instead of keeping this money to themselves, they give it back to you in the form of cash back.
Here’s a quick summary of how this works:
- Sign-up for a free TopCashback account. As a new user you’re automatically given a $10 bonus.
- Search for the retailer you wish to shop at to view their cash back rate. For example, Walmart at the time of writing this article is giving 5% in cash back on all items (with a few exceptions such as gift cards)
- Click on the “Get Cash back” button to be redirected to the Walmart page.
- Make your purchase like you normally would. TopCashback will automatically track your purchases and give you 5% in cash back within 10 days to your TopCashback account.
- When you reach a minimum balance of $10 in earned cash back, you can withdraw it to PayPal. Exchange for a gift card to earn a 3% bonus.
14. Get Money Back For Things You’ve already bought
Paribus is a free service that helps you earn cash back on your online purchases. They work by scanning your email for any receipts from one of their 16 partnered retailers. Each time you make a purchase, they check if there’s a price drop. If there is, they refund you the difference.
The only setup required for you is to link your online shopper accounts so that they can track your purchases. The refunds are automatically made back to your original payment method – you don’t have to do anything on your end.
15. Become A Freelance Writer With iWriter
With online content mills, it’s now easier than ever to become a professional freelance writer. iWriter is a freelance writing platform that doesn’t require any experience. You get to choose which pieces you write and when you write them.
Compared with other writing platforms, most of the communication done between the client and the writer is done via email instead of directly through a messaging system on the site. This makes the relationship a bit more informal.
What I love about iWriter is that you’ll have plenty of chances to earn cash and improve your writing. You’ll work closely with a manager who gives you advice on how you can improve your writing. All payments are made via PayPal and take up to 72 hours to reach your account.
16. Earn Cash For Things You Do Everyday
Creations Rewards is an up-and-coming small task site that pays you complete things that you already do on a daily basis at home. This includes taking surveys, watching videos, signing-up for free-trial offers and more.
Creations Rewards offers a $5 bonus when you register as a new user. You can increase your earnings by referring a friend, and each time your friend earns you earn.
I typically find that I can complete these tasks while watching TV at home or even while on the go.
17. Create A Gig On Fiverr And Sell It For $5
Fiverr is a platform that was created to provide professionals with a platform to sell their goods or services at a cheap price – just $5.
If you can make a quick logo or write short pieces of content at a quick pace, this is a great way to earn some extra cash.
The best way to earn extra cash is through the up-sells. Say that you’ll deliver your product in a day for an additional cost of $5. Give a discount for making 3 logos instead of one.
You can sell almost anything you can think of on Fiverr. Here are some quick examples of some gigs that you might currently find:
- Graphic design
- Making a prank phone call
- Voice recordings in a clown mask
- Website optimization
- Content writing
- Prank phone calls
- Serve as a reference when applying for a job
18. Teach Your Mother Tongue With iTalki
iTalki is an online website that helps connect language learning students with teachers.
Anyone can sign-up as a teacher, and you can expect to earn anywhere from $10 – $30 per hour depending on the language.
For example, if you teach Chinese you’re probably not going to make as much as someone who teaches French or English.
You get to set your own rates and your own schedule. Most calls are given over Skype during a video or audio call.
Be sure to put a lot of work into preparing your lessons, as your students will be more likely to come back. Furthermore, getting positive reviews will help you attract new students as well.
19. Surf The Web With Qmee
Since you’re most likely already surfing the web on a daily basis, you might as well get paid for it. Qmee is a mobile app as well as a browser extension that pays you to click on ads while you surf the web.
Each time you surf the web, Qmee looks for relevant advertisers related to your search term. If something comes up, a small pop-up appears in your browser. Click on the ad and earn anywhere from $.05 – $.15 cents per click.
The great thing about Qmee is that cash is awarded immediately to your account. Not only that, but there’s no minimum withdrawal amount. If you have as little as 10 cents in your account, you can still make withdrawals to your PayPal account.
You also get a $1 bonus when you sign-up. Qmee has recently introduced free online surveys to increase your income even further.
20. Help Students With Their Homework
With Chegg you can become a tutor and help students on a wide range of subjects. This online homework service is available to students of all ages and all levels, so you don’t need to be a complete expert to become a teacher.
All you need is to have completed the same level of education of where your students are at. For example, if you’re teaching high school kids, all you need is a high school diploma.
If you’re an experienced teacher with a lot of great reviews, it’s not difficult to learn up to $20/hour or even more. When you sign-up with Chegg it’s like you’re becoming a real teacher. This means you’ll need to look over homework and give feedback as well.
All payments are sent out on Thursday night, but the cutoff date to receive them is on Wednesday night. As of 2016, the top tutors at Chegg were earning $1,000 per month.
21. Rent Out Your Room To Travelers
With Airbnb, you can rent out your room to travelers. Be sure to check the price of hotels in your local area and undercut them – this will ensure you to get clients.
Depending on the city that you live in, you can typically rent out a room from anywhere between $20 and $100 a night, or even more. Bigger cities are able to charge a much higher price range.
If you’re able to provide an entire apartment or studio you can increase your price even further. Keep in mind that each time you rent out a room, Airbnb will charge a service fee.
You’ll also be responsible for cleaning the room and making sure everything is up to par. Your clients will leave reviews, so be sure to give them the best experience possible.
22. Transcribe Audio Recordings With Scribie
Services like Scribie help companies transcribe audio recordings to text. With this program, you can expect to earn between $5 – $20 per audio hour. Keep in mind that it’s an acquired skill. The more you transcribe, the faster you’ll get with it.
It especially helps if you’re a fast type. They also give a $10 bonus for every 3 hours of audio that you transcribe. You can increase your earnings even further by referring your friends and family and receive 10% of all of their earnings for life.
Not everyone is accepted to Scribie, so you’ll have to take a test in order to be eligible. Keep in mind that when you cash out there will be a 2% fee for PayPal.
23. Transcribe Audio Recordings With TranscribeMe
TranscribeMe is a website that pays you to transcribe audio and video clips into text. According to their website, their earnings start at $20 per audio hour. They also state that the average worker makes $250 per month and the top earners make $2,200 per month.
You complete an entrance exam to qualify for TranscribeMe; prior experience isn’t necessary but it can result in higher pay. TranscribeMe pays weekly via PayPal every Tuesday with a payment threshold of $10.
Want to transcribe a language other than English? Not a problem. With TranscribeMe you can transcribe English, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and more. If you get really good at transcribing audio, TranscribeMe also offers advancement opportunities to enhance your career.
24. Become A Freelance Writer With Textbroker
We’ve mentioned Textbroker in our Textbroker Review about whether or not it’s worth your time as a writer. Textbroker was the first online writing job I had, and it actually helped launch my freelance writing career.
You can earn anywhere from 0.7 cents to 5.0 cents per word ($3.50 to $25.00 per 500-word article). Getting accepted to Textbroker is fairly easy, and you get paid weekly via PayPal.
I’ve used it to make a full-time and part-time income. In 2012, I earned $126.69 my first week and $249.55 my second week. No experience is necessary, but you’ll need to submit a writing sample to determine how much you’ll initially earn per word.
25. Complete Small Tasks For Quick Payouts
Amazon Mechanical Turk is one of the most long-standing and well-known micro crowdsourcing platforms out there. You complete HITs (human intelligence tasks) that include surveys, transcription, photo categorization, and much more.
When I signed up for mTurk in 2011, I made $1,298 in six weeks using the platform full-time. You work at your own pace and can work as little or as much as you want. You get paid via direct deposit.
26. Get $5 For Free With Acorns
The Acorns App is very similar to the Stash App mentioned above. When you sign-up as a new user you get a $5 bonus that can be used to invest in your future. Unlike Stash, college students can waive the $1 monthly fee with a valid edu email address.
Acorns works a bit differently by having you select from 5 different portfolios depending on your risk level. While they do give you a recommendation based on your current financial status, you can easily change this at any time.
My favorite part about Acorns is their round-up option that lets you invest with pennies at a time. With this option you’ll need to link your credit card. Each time you make a purchase, the total price will be rounded up to the nearest dollar. The difference between the actual price and the rounded-up price will be automatically deposited into your Acorns account.
27. Repeatedly Earn $5 With The Amazon App
Most people I know already use Amazon to make a large portion of their purchases online. However, there aren’t that many that use the Amazon mobile app.
If you’ve never used the app before, install it to your phone and get a $5 bonus when you make your first purchase. Continually increase your earnings by referring your friends. Each time they sign-up you get a $5 bonus and so do they.
When you install the app you can find your referral link under settings. The app is available for iOS, Android and Amazon mobile devices.
28. Complete Small Tasks With Clickworker
Similar to Creations Rewards mentioned above, Clickworker is another site where you complete small tasks like surveys, transcription, categorization, and more.
According to the link above, Clickworker anticipates that on average, a worker can earn $9 per hour. You simply sign up to get started and begin completing tasks that you’re eligible for.
Payment is made once a week via PayPal between Wednesday and Friday. You can read all about Clickworker on the Clickworker FAQ page to see if it’s a good fit for you. No experience is required.
29. Transcribe Text With Rev
Rev is a freelance transcription service that hires transcriptionists, captioners, and translators. Transcriptionists earn $0.45 to $0.60 per audio minute, captioners earn $0.40 to $0.75 per audio minute, and translators earn $0.05 to $0.07 per word.
You are paid weekly via PayPal and set your own work schedule. You also have the ability to choose from various projects that are available. No previous experience is required.
30. Become A Customer Service Rep
LiveOps hires work from home customer service representatives for sales, healthcare, roadside service, and more. You set your own schedule and can work for as little as 30 minutes at a time.
You can earn about $0.25 per minute that you are on a call, so you have a real ability to make this a part-time or full-time job. GlassDoor.com says LiveOps Independent Agents make an average of $14.49 per hour and Customer Service Reps make $11.72 per hour.
Some clients also pay commission for sales that are made. You must fill out an application and meet LiveOps computer and phone requirements.
Payments are made twice per month. Prior experience isn’t necessary, but you do have to take unpaid certification courses for the job. Read more about this opportunity on LiveOps FAQ page.
31. Participate In Microjobs From Your Computer
Microworkers is a crowdsourcing job opportunity where you complete tasks called microjobs. Like the other platforms, these tasks may include surveys, transcribing, categorization, video comparison, and much more.
You can receive payment via PayPal, Payoneer, Skrill, or Dwolla. Payments are sent twice per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The Microworker FAQ section doesn’t state anything about average earnings. However, Microworker users in this Reddit thread mention making anywhere from $5 to $7 per hour to $300 per week. No experience is required.
32. Teach Others Online With TutorVista
If you have a post-graduate degree, then TutorVista may be an ideal part-time or full-time work from home job for you. TutorVista hires tutors to work a minimum of four hours per day, but the hours you work are flexible.
If you want to work full-time, you work nine hours per day. Tutor subjects vary from kindergarten level all the way to undergraduate level. In most cases, you’ll work in 45-minute sessions with students.
According to this work at home website, tutors can earn anywhere from $8 to $39 per hour depending on your experience and expertise. You can submit your application and learn more at the link above.
33. Evaluate Search Engine Results
Leapforce hires work from home search engine evaluators to work for Leapforce clients. You aren’t required to work on a set schedule. Instead, you submit an invoice for each hour of work that you complete.
You are paid once per month via direct deposit within 30 days of submitting an invoice. At GlassDoor.com, Leapforce workers report earning between $13.75 and $13.88 per hour.
34. Switch To Bing Search Engine
Using Google or Yahoo? I bet you don’t get paid to use their browser for searches. Bing has a program called Bing Rewards that pays you just for using their search engine. You can also use this in addition to Qmee mentioned above to increase your earnings.
We suggest that you surf the web like you normally would since it’s quite difficult to determine exactly when Bing will pay you for a search. However, you should be able to see points slowly accumulate in your account.
These points can be exchanged for prizes such as gift cards to Starbucks or Amazon. Refer your friends for some extra cash.
35. Become An Apple Home Advisor
Apple hires workers for At Home Advisor positions. At Home Advisors are hired on both a full-time and part-time basis, receive a benefits package, paid vacation, and product discounts.
According to GlassDoor.com, the average salary for an Apple AHA is $29,900 per year (about $14.37 per hour on a full-time basis).
To qualify for the position, you need “Minimum 2 years professional technical troubleshooting expertise or proven technical ability.” and customer service experience. Full requirements can be found by navigating the job listings at the link above.
36. Freelance Write With WriterAccess
WriterAccess is a website I recommend if you have some writing experience or feel skilled with writing. The application process is a bit lengthy, and you are required to write two writing samples.
Your writing sample will determine your rating – Level 2, 3, 4, or 5. Level 2 writers make a minimum of 1.4 cents per word, and Level 5 writers make a minimum of 7.0 cents per word.
You get paid twice per month via PayPal. No experience is required, but the standards for being accepted are a bit higher than other options.
37. Earn $5 With The Clink App
Clink is another investment advisor app that helps you invest small amounts of cash toward your future. Get a $5 bonus when you register. Like Stash and Acorns mentioned above, this app works by taking advice from investment fund managers and expert investors around the world.
Even if you have a small amount of money you can invest it and see a positive return. You can choose to invest a certain amount each week or choose to invest a certain percentage of your dining expenses. The amount and the scheduling is up to you.
Either way, you don’t have to do any work on your end. All you need is as little as $5 to get started, and this is given to you when you sign-up. Like the other apps, you’re charged $1 per month for using the app. If your balance is over $5,000, they charge you 0.25% of your total balance annually.
38. Go Mystery Shopping
EasyShift is a free mobile app that pays you to go shopping at retail stores near you. While at the store, you might be asked to check the price of a product or scan the barcode using your phone.
Most of the tasks on there aren’t too difficult, and if you live in a large city you’re more likely to have a lot of tasks to complete. However, we recommend completing them as much as possible. Sometimes there’s only a limited amount of spots to the amount of people that can complete a task.
All cash is earned via direct deposits to PayPal, and all payments are made within 48 hours. If you want to learn more, read our full EasyShift review.
39. Complete Small Tasks For Quick Extra Cash
OneSpace – formerly known as Crowdsource – originated as a client on Amazon’s Mechanical Turk platform. They moved to their own platform where workers can complete writing tasks, quality assurance tasks, occasional short surveys, and more.
I’ve used the platform myself around the holidays, and I worked for Crowdsource while using mTurk. Anyone can sign up for OneSpace, and payments are made daily via PayPal.
I personally used OneSpace to make extra money here and there – anywhere from $10 a day to $100 or more per week. If you put the time into it, it’s certainly a viable source of part-time income. The best part? No experience required.
40. Become A Virtual Assistant
Want to get paid for completing easy tasks from home? Virtual Office VA is a program that helps you find as a position as a virtual assistant for multiple people.
Most of the work you will have to complete will be very simple. This may include responding to emails or other simple customer service rolls.
The pay depends on the type of work that you do and your proficiency in the task. Expect to earn an average of $9 per hour. The more tasks you complete and the better you get, the higher your rates may go up.
41. Become A Customer Service Agent Convergys
Convergys is a work from home opportunity that offers the benefits of a traditional job. Some examples include a 401-K plan, paid vacation, full benefits package, and more. You work as a customer service agent, and there are three areas of work to choose from.
For those that want a little bit more work, you can choose 40 hours per week in 8 to 8.5-hour shifts. You can also work part-time for 25 to 30 hours per week in 4 to 6-hour shifts.
The Convergys FAQ states that you are paid an hourly wage plus possible commission, and GlassDoor.com reports that workers average between $9.74 and $10.58 per hour. This is overall an excellent option if you want a more traditional, career-oriented job versus spare income. Experience is not required to apply.
42. Teach Others With Aim For A Tutoring
Aim Academics is another company that offers part-time and full-time positions for online tutors. Areas of tutoring include English, Math, Science, GED, PSAT, SAT, homework help, and more.
Students range from elementary students to college students. DreamHomeBasedWork.com says that pay ranges between $10 to $15 per hour.
Experience is required to work for Aim Academics; you must have a bachelor’s degree and teaching experience. More information about requirements and the application process can be found at the link above.
43. Become A Private Tutor With Tutor.com
If you’re looking for a part-time job, Tutor.com is an excellent opportunity to help students from kindergarten through college. There are over 20 tutoring areas to choose from, and you can choose your preferred area when filling out your application.
You can also choose to tutor on a set schedule, log in when you’re free or set appointments ahead of time. According to the Tutor Applicant FAQ, you are paid an hourly rate and more information is provided during the hiring process.
44. Become A Freelance Writer With Hire Writers
Hire Writers is another online writing company that pays people to write from home on their own schedule. The signup process is easy, so you can start earning money online almost immediately.
The amount of money you’ll earn depends on your ranking – Beginner, General, Skilled, or Expert. It’s very easy to climb the ranks with a week or so.
Beginners can make $2.25 per 300 to 500-word assignment, and Experts earn much more at $10.66 per 300 to 500-word assignment. HireWriters pays weekly on Friday via PayPal, and no previous writing experience is required.
45. Sell Homemade Products With Amazon Homemade

54. Design Websites
With the amount of resources available online, it’s no longer such a daunting task learning how to build websites or design them. A great way to learn is by taking a quick course on Udemy. Most web design courses are under $20, and get you well on your way to building sites.
Once you have the skills under your belt, check sites like Upwork for job opportunities. As a new freelancer, it may be difficult to find gigs. Start out small by offering a cheap price until you get positive reviews. After your rankings are up, you can slowly increase your price and find more and more clients.
If anything, you can use these skills to apply for a job. Find out how learning how to code in 5 months helped me get a job as a web developer. While I went to to coding school to learn web design skills, you can just as easily learn them from home. When I was designing sites as a contractor, I was earning anywhere between $50 – $100 per hour.
55. Develop an App
Maybe web designing isn’t your thing, and you want to get into something more technical. There are also course on Udemy that teach you how to build a web app. The great thing about web apps is that there’s so many resources to help you get started, and it doesn’t need to be anything extravagant.
The difficult part? The market is a bit saturated, but if you can come up with a great idea and have the marketing know-how, you may be able to pull it off. Simply placing your app on the App Store for $.99 cents can be a great way to earn some passive income on the side.
Not only that, but if your app fails, at least you have a portfolio piece as a web developer. All this for the low cost of taking a Udemy course online.
56. Create A YouTube Channel
YouTube can be a great platform for bringing in some side income. A lot of people are scared to show their face in front of the camera. If you can break out of this shyness and can find a profitable niche, you could be the only one competing in your space.
However, creating a good YouTube video can be a lot of work. There’s creating content, doing retakes, editing, marketing, camera equipment and much more. While your videos don’t have to be perfect at first, they still need to be of great quality to get people wanting to come back.
Again, we can’t help but recommend how great Udemy is for finding cheap courses on learning what you need to be successful. There’s plenty of courses for creating a successful YouTube channel.
57. Publish Kindle eBooks
The great thing about publishing an ebook on Amazon is that it’s one of the most passive forms of income out there. Not only that, but you can easily get it finished for under $100.
I wrote my first ebook for free called 101 Free Money Making Apps. While it doesn’t get that many sales, here and there I’ll earn a few extra dollars. It also serves as a great marketing tool back to my blog, and I literally don’t have to touch it.
Amazon is a great place to make money online. They have tons of traffic already, so you don’t have to do much work in getting traffic to your book. Not sure on what to write about? Choose something you’re knowledgable about or enjoy writing, and also be sure to check out this well-thought out ebook guide.
58. Sell Products Through Amazon FBA or eBay
This can be quite a lengthy process, but selling items through Amazon or eBay can be extremely profitable. It’s not uncommon to hear of stories where sellers are raking in $100,000 or more per year by selling through Amazon FBA.
The difficult part is finding suppliers. Many people look toward AliBaba for suppliers. Be sure to ask for a sample first to see if the product is reliable and safe. Negotiate with suppliers and bring down your cost.
The only downside is that the initial investment may be a a bit high. The majority of suppliers aren’t willing to sell to you unless you buy in bulk. Ordering one piece at a time can be quite expensive, although it can also be a way to test out if your product sells. Do plenty of research before buying your first product, as you don’t want to spend hundreds on something that doesn’t sell.
As you can see, there is a ton of potential for ways on how to work from home. The options above are suitable whether you’re looking for a job that pays hourly or you want to make an extra $20 per day.
Additionally, you can use the tips section to explore even more work online options. The flexibility of online jobs from home is truly wonderful for many parents.
