After nearly 8 months of leaving the Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel app installed on my phone, I finally decided to check how much I had earned. I completely forgot it was there. To my surprise, I had enough points in my account to redeem for a $28 Amazon gift card.

The Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel is a free program that pays you for doing things that you already do. This includes surfing the web, watching videos and checking emails.

The best part? Once you set it up, the only thing you have to do is cash out, making this a great passive income source. Registration is 100% free.

What Is the Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel?

The Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel is a free rewards program that pays you to collect data about how you use the internet. This includes information such as what browsers you use, the speed of your internet and how often you surf the web.

This is the reason that they’re able to pay you. They take the date that you provide and sell it to companies that use this information to improve their products and services.

what is nielsen consumer panel

Keep in mind that the Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel is available for desktop, tablet and mobile devices. The more devices that you register the more you earn.

From using just one device, I’m earning at a rate of roughly $50 per year in passive income. If I were to install more the app on multiple devices I could increase this amount.

Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel is available in multiple countries. Take into account that your earnings may differ depending on what country you’re in.

The longer you leave their software installed, the more points you earn. These points can be exchanged for either cool prizes or a gift card of your choosing. From the last time I checked, there were at least 50 different gift cards to choose from.

As long as you have some sort of smart device or PC, you will most likely be eligible to join. If you ever find thatNielsen Computer & Mobile Panel is not currently accepting any new members, I suggest checking back once a month to see if they need more people.

How Much Can I Earn With Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel?

The amount you earn withNielsen Computer & Mobile Panel depends on a number of factors:

  • Quantity of devices
  • Device type
  • Location
You Can Have Multiple Devices

The best part about Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel is that you can register multiple devices. Eligibility for devices is device and population based. As long as you haven’t reached the limit for the specific area that you’re in, you can keep adding devices.

For example, let’s say in your city there’s a registration limit of 100 devices, but only 10 devices are registered thus far. This means you can register 90 more devices assuming no one else does for you. In a sense, you can have unlimited devices.

The more devices you have registered, the more you can earn.

Device Type

Your rewards are calculated a bit differently depending on the device that you’re using. If you’re using their desktop or laptop software, you only earn entries into sweepstakes for $1,000 or more. These sweepstakes are drawn multiple times a year.

You don’t have to do anything to participate. As long as you’re a continued member of Nielsen Digital Voice you’re going to automatically be entered into the drawing.

Location

Here are just some of the countries in which you can use Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel:

  • The United States
  • England
  • Spain
  • Hong Kong
  • Australia
  • Canada
  • Many more

When registering you will choose your location. Generally English-speaking countries earn a bit more than their counterparts, but this shouldn’t discourage you from registering if you aren’t. This is very easy money once you have an account setup.

If you can’t understand the current language, you can always switch it. In this article, all examples are based off of the US.

So How Much Can I Earn?

I’m going to give you an example of how much I’ve earned after being with Nielsen for roughly 8 months. In short, I couldn’t be any happier with the results. I’ve earned roughly $30 in points from this time.

This means that you can earn roughly $50/year in passive income. Of course this amount would increase if I increase the amount of devices I have. The only work that’s required is for you to setup you account and your devices. Once that’s done, all you need to do is cash out.

For those who participate in the desktop panel, you can win a maximum of $1,000 per month if your name is drawn from the sweepstakes. Yet most of the time this is unlikely since over 400 users enter monthly.

They do give out smaller prizes such as $25 or $50, but the total they give out per month won’t exceed $10,000 in sweepstakes prizes. Regular users will be asked to complete surveys that will give them more entries into a drawing. However, it may take a while before you’re invited to this.

What Are Some Other Rewards Programs That Work Like Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel?

Just because you’re earning with Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel doesn’t mean you have to stop earning. There are plenty of other passive income rewards programs. Registration is 100% FREE for all of these programs.

1. Shoptracker

Shoptracker is one of the most passive income apps out there. It only takes about 5 minutes to register, and you even get a $3 bonus just for signing-up for a new user.

Shoptracker is a free mobile app that works by tracking your Amazon purchases. Upon registration, you’ll need to answer a quick, 5-question multiple-choice survey about your Amazon purchase habits.

After that, link your Amazon account and you’ll be immediately rewarded $3 in the form of an Amazon gift card. From there, for every month that you leave the app installed you get an additional $3. This means you can make $39 your first year just by leaving the app installed.

2. BillsBoard

BillsBoard is a recently-launched app, but it’s one of the best I’ve seen out there when it comes to doing as little work as possible. Registration is completely free and you get a free 250-point bonus for signing-up.

BillsBoard is one of the many lockscreen apps out there that pays you to lock your screen. The only difference? An ad appears on your home screen when you unlock it.

You get paid whether you engage in the ad or not. This means unlock your phone like normal and you’ll still earn some extra cash – no extra button clicking necessary.

Don’t expect to earn much, but it’s free money. You need a minimum of 1,500 points to cash out for $1, but we recommend saving up more since your points become more valuable the more you earn.

We estimate that you could easily make an extra $5 per month.

3. Survey Savvy Connect

While I haven’t had a chance to review this passive income app, I’ve only heard great things about it. You can install the app on as many as 3 different devices, with each device earning $5/month. This means you can earn as much as $180/year in passive income.

Like the other apps mentioned here, all you have to do is leave the app installed and it quietly runs in the background. Unfortunately, you can only have one of each device type using the app. This means you can have the app installed on a mobile device, tablet and a desktop.

This app is currently only available to US residents.

Is Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel Worth It?

Many people consider passive income apps like this to be a scam. It’s no wonder this is the case, since many of them claim that you can make thousands. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

In my case, I had completely forgotten that I had the app installed on my phone. I opened it and was surprised that I could claim roughly $30 in Amazon gift cards after just 8 months. In a year’s time, it would equate to about $50 in passive income.

The best part is that the phone I installed it on was often turned off. As long as you turn your phone on occasionally, you shouldn’t have any problems racking up points.

Is Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel A Scam?

From personal experience, I can say that Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel is not a scam. In fact, Nielsen is one of the most reputable companies on market research out there and was formed all the way back in 1923. They are accredited by the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating.

How To Get A Free $5 From Nielsen

A lot of users report a trick that will prompt Nielsen to send you an extra $5. Simply uninstall the app. Within a short time, Nielsen will send you an email with an offer stating that they’ll give you $5 if you come back and install the app for a minimum of 30 days.

I tried this myself shortly after signing-up. Within just a few days they sent this offer. I filled out a short feedback survey and reinstalled the app for 30 days. I waited another month and received a bonus of $5.

Keep in mind that this may not work for you and your mileage may vary.
